I guess we always knew this through her movie roles but she's reaching new levels of amazing in her role as Norma Bates on THE BATES MOTEL. Last night's episode, which I just finished watching, was terrific and she was priceless. One of America's acting treasures. Give the woman an Emmy for this one!

I agree she is one my favorite actors on the show. She really brings a lot to the roll and I'm looking forward to how the show develops! Though I was disappointed about what happened to that hot sheriff.....

He was only a guest star so I guess one could see that one coming. He's in a pilot for the fall so I guess killing him off made sense.

I agree with assessments of her performance as Norma and disappointment of the kill off of the sheriff, actor Vogel. The two sons are very cute but I seem to be distracted by hearing Norman's natural Brit accent pop up at times. My family watched the original movie Psycho and the new movie "Hitchcock" based on the making of Psycho, while watching the new series Bates Motel. All three seem to my unsophisticated film tastes, a really interesting body of work. Of all the hunks in the three sets of work, I still have the biggest crush on Anthony Perkins.

I think the film of HITCHCOCK is fairly awful, bearing little relation to reality. I don't think Anthony Perkins was ever a "hunk." He's definitely a twink. Max Theirot is super hot but they need to get him out of those heavy clothes. I listen very carefully and have never once heard Freddie Highmore's Brit accent.

The original PSYCHO is, of course, one of the greatest film masterpieces of all time.
