Well obviously different people have different expectations of their boyfriends. But in common use it has nothing to do with barebacking. It rather describes an 'approach' to the session. Escorts (or clients) generally mean being affectionate during a session, most likely kissing, and exhibiting a warmth and friendliness during the encounter rather than approaching it as a business transaction. In other words in the way it is used commonly- an escort who promised 'domination' of the client or who is only into being serviced would not usually be considered to offer a 'boyfriend experience'. But again those scenarios are what some guys want from their boyfriends - but that's not what is generally considered a 'BFE'.

Wow! I’ve never before heard that the Boyfriend Experience could connote barebacking. I, personally, would never want a boyfriend who engaged in unsafe sex, with me or any of his previous partners!!!

Before the term "Boyfriend experience" was introduced (and now widely used) there was the term "Girlfriend experience"

The girlfriend experience (commonly known as GFE) is a type of service a female sex worker offers which includes acting like a girlfriend to the client. GFE includes french kissing, hugging, talking, and eating a meal together. If the escort is male, the service is called boyfriend experience.

And I can confirm from many experiences that Anton gives a true boyfriend experience. To me its the difference between a quick fuck (which can also be fun) with little interaction beyond that vs. a longer session maybe starting out with a drink and chat leading to kissing, then bed time, then more chat and snuggling afterwards.
