I'm aware there have been other more recent posts about Bitcoin but @Griffin Donavon brought it into our lives and that's why I'm posting on here.

Say hello to E-Krona, the (first) national online coin.

Cash is used to an ever-decreasing extent in Sweden, which has led them within the world of central banking to start considering whether a digital complement to cash that is guaranteed by the state is needed so that we will be able to promote a safe and efficient payment system in the future too. Consequently, in mid-March, we launched a project with the aim of investigating the need for a so-called e-krona and the possible consequences of introducing such a complement.

The IRS, while slow to address cryptocurrency issues, has finally issued guidelines for reporting. It could get ugly for those who deal in cryptocurrencies. Couple that with the fact that the IRS has ruled cryptocurrencies are considered property and not currency and you have a whole new equation added to this debacle.

2 years ago I transferred $50 into a Bitcoin wallet to use it as advertisement purposes. Well needless to say I never quite figured out how to use it. And I kind of forgot it. I was getting my haircut and I heard this guy talking about Bitcoin how it was $17,000 Bitcoin and anyone that had purchased it within the last 3 year. Would probably have a lot of money. Of course I downloaded the coinbase app again I had to figure out my passwords again and when I finally figured all that out my $50 was $2,980. Not bad but since then Bitcoin has gone down and it keeps fluctuating

I got a chuckle out of this...

‘OK, I’ll say it: bitcoin is a scam,’ says the former CEO of PayPal and Intuit

Excerpt: “It’s a colossal pump-and-dump scheme, the likes of which the world has never seen... the losers are ill-informed buyers caught up in the spiral of greed. The result is a massive transfer of wealth from ordinary families to internet promoters.’”

Here on the South Shore of western Nassau County Long Island a home went on the market for 4.6 million and the broker stated that Bitcoin would be accepted as payment. It's supposed to be the first time that Bitcoin could be used in a real estate transaction on Long Island.
