In perusing my email this morning, I note a message from a friend, a commentary on M4RN's "Kennie", who in addition to escorting services, provides "top quality genetic seed" for females, that is, he is a sperm donor for hire. Is this a common sideline for escorts possessed of exceptional physical beauty? And, is his fee of$25,000 the going rate for such service.

For women choosing a sperm donor, appearance is just one factor. As with egg donors, height and intelligence (often measured by SAT scores/education) are typically the biggest factors.

Sperm donation is a buyer's market since it's easy for guys to masturbate into a cup. (Egg donors are more scarce because of the medical procedures needed to harvest eggs.) Even the top sperm donors, often tall guys from Ivy League schools, rarely get more than $1000. I'm curious about what your friend is doing to get $25K.

Also, I'll address the elephant in the room: Many women in the market for designer sperm are looking for a "perfect" child, and the prospect of a gay son scares them. Has this been an issue for Kennie?

That assumes gay is hereditary. Which I can't imagine since 'straight' isn't hereditary. Of course it probably skips genes or what not. The son may not be gay but the son's son from another mother might be gay.

The current evidence shows that orientation is caused by a mix of factors, including heredity. But who knows what scientists willl learn in the next few years?

cool. I have a friend who's now gay but had 2 boys in the past. As far as I know both are straight. But now if he had 2 more boys...who knows? lol. I always find it funny that families with all boys 4 or more, atleast 1 turns up gay. I'm 1 of 4 :o

I applied to a sperm bank when I was in university & was told flat out during the interview that, as part of their sexual health screening, they did not accept anyone who was sexually active with other men.

I applied too, Mark. They told me I was too ugly! :p

The women missed out on having a child with a hunky father.

That's too bad, Mark. In addition to your looks, your posts show that you're very intelligent. The fact that you told the truth shows you have character also. Your kids would have great genes.

That could turn out to cause a lot of future problems--

Interesting story. I think that in this case the judge has been deciding with blindfolds on.

In relationships we have known so far, the other partner of the mother was always the father of the child. Obviously, he could be asked to pay for child support if the two broke up.

In this case, it's the lesbian partner of the mother who's the other parent of the child. I'm slightly surprised that she's not being asked to pay for child support. After all, the two lesbians wanted a child as two parents, so they are the ones who are both responsible. I think that the state of Kansas needs to turn to the other lesbian partner, as she wanted the child as well.

If I were him I'd start a court case against the biological mother to compensate him for all the money he now has to pay to the state. He signed an agreement with her, and he can ask her for compensation for the financial damages he now has.

Since Kansas doesn't recognize gay marriage- legally, I'm assuming, the non biological mother has no real legal relationship

to the child so probably can't be made to pay.

Granted it has been a few years since college, but the local fertility clinic paid their approved donors $175/ donation with an additional "on call" premium fee for return donations if you were selected by a client. Certainly no where near $25K, but they had a large university population to pull from. They had a routine but somewhat detailed health screening process and actively looked for certain attributes. Made a few bucks for looking at really bad porn in an exam room with a little sterile specimen cup!
