Hey All! Looks like Junior here is a little late coming to the dinner table...had some travels after Palm Springs weekend...and I absolutely detest trying to fill out Forum posts on a tiny little iPhone screen. Thus, by the time I had the ability to respond, it looks like all hell broke loose on that Palm Springs forum string, and it got locked. Sooooo, let me comment.

Wow. Simply, wow.

First and foremost, I have to thank my dear friend, Traveller North, for 'twisting' my arm into coming out of my shell and giving me the chance to broaden my horizons. Am I ever glad that he did. Joe, you're an absolute classact and someone that I'll treasure having met in this journey we are all on.

For all the readers on this message board who sit on the sidelines like a kid in the 50's in front of a radio with the 'Lone Ranger' on...vividly listening and reading the action being described...if you are hemming and hawwing wondering whether it's worth it for the plane ticket, worth it for the time off work or away from home..I'll offer it succinctly: YES.

To see these "workers", now outside the boundaries of work- to see them for who they REALLY ARE, is refreshing. To see clients, now without the shells of anonymity and distance...developping lifelong friendships by virtue of meeting at this event, is inspiring. This event takes everything that is BUSINESS about this INDUSTRY, and removes it from the equation....leaving just the raw personalities and fun.

To all the forum members I met there...I'm afraid to start naming, because I might leave someone out...what a concentration of just fun, GOOD people...I cannot wait to see you all at next years' event...I intend to attend both the DC Luncheon as well as this one.

To all the escorts there, of which I'll name a few:

Joey Bryant- what a cool, fresh faced kid. Can tell a good one when I see one, and you're it.

Ace- How dare you call out the wrong name during sex?!?!!?!? -SLAP-

Nate SF- I can see why your reputation precedes you! ;)

Chris Eisenhower- Why do you have to be so darned talllll and good looking?!

Ace Banner- Changing my nomination of Marc Dylan for escort of the year someday(nothing against him, just after having met you..) to YOU. The only limitation facing you, is your geographic area and the fact that you're up against porn guys with alot of exposure...but from a quality standpoint- I am SOOOOOOOO impressed with this southern gentleman.

Rusty- Addddorable!

Jason Carter- Learned some wicked important things from you, without you even knowing it, and they're reflected below as a change going forward:

You've refreshed in my mind that escorting isn't a business, it's about personal connections...and in the bustle of it all and getting too big for my britches, I clearly stumbled from that path. I love Rick Reynolds, Irish69, who helped me on the phones, a ton. However, by having this 'buffer' in between me and the clients, it all became too impersonal, and removed the BEST part of escorting from the equation...the people.

Effective immediately, I will be returning to answering my own phone calls and emails. I don't care if my volume or income drops in half, it is the quality of these sessions and relationships that is most important. Rick, you have been a tremendous asset, and in ANY other type of business you'd instrumental...but in my current shoes, I cannot risk alienating the very people who put me up to where I am...'Joe' and 'Bob' and 'Ken' cannot be 2 O'Clocks to me, 4' O'Clocks to, etc...they've got to be 'MY JOEY' and 'My Bobby' and 'Kenny stud' and so forth.

Palm Springs was not only a relaxing, fun weekend...but it opened my eyes to what this is really about, again. =)

Looking forward, I'd like to play a role in helping plan next year's event...and I've got some leverage in the stripping/dancing industry as a performer, so with Oliver's / Jason's blessing(s), let me see what I can help coordinate on the entertainment field with nightclubs, too?

It was only for a relatively short period, but I really enjoyed talking to you. You're a genuine guy, T.

As 1st responder (edit, now 2nd)...like I said, when I 1st came to the dinner it was you and Jason I felt an instant familiarity with. Of course as things went on I vibed with others as well including that surprise kiss from someone here you didn't mention. He knows who he is :o I'm just jealous that I was too hungover to join the gym with you lol. Sure I would have learned something new...

So glad that the weekend worked out for you. I thought that it was important that you get out there and meet some of the amazing guys that make the PS weekend happen, and to meet all the participants as well. Sometimes here in the forum, you can't see the forest for the trees, so to speak...lol I remember my first time, I was truly astounded how nice LBT, Oliver, Lucky, Charlie and so many others are, and how decent and genuine human beings they are.

Bless you and Rik. Hope that everything is going well and maybe, just maybe, someday I will get a chance to meet you.

Cheers for now, BVB

I remember seeing some pics of these weekends at Palm Springs. Have any of these been posted recently? (Wouldn't suggest compromising anyone's identity but it is kind of interesting - and hot - to see these escorts in social settings.)

I took some pictures, currently awaiting permission from party to see if he'd be okay with me doing so.

You may be thinking of the photos that were posted after the DC luncheon.

Tristan, you are truly a class act. Rob and I were thrilled we got to meet you and that you are so nice and down to earth in person. It sucks that I had to miss the pool party because of work but there's always next year.

Wayne

What Wayne said. :) It was so nice to meet you, Tristan, and we're looking forward to seeing you and everyone else in Palm Springs again next year!

Tristan-

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I'm the one to be impressed. Any man who gets to spend time with you is a lucky SOB. Appreciate you making me feel like one of the gang right away and for the advice along with it. Really can't say how much I enjoyed getting to know you and all the other great men...escorts and clients alike.

Hey guys, I don't have a ton of photos...but if you're interested in seeing them, you check out my blog and type the password Daddys (capitol d). There's some pics of Rusty, Ace, Jason and myself there.

I don't want to post them here because then after awhile I'll have to bug daddy to have them removed as they'll only be up for a limited time! P.S., Tristan by the time the thought arose to take photos, most of the pool group had already departed including yourself!

...Believe me, we all look WAY hotter than those pics, consider them just blueprints.

At the dinner table, in front of your client? :p

Troublemaker! Someone needs a spanking. ;)

Because of the type of visitors this site has, probably should make sure the one getting spanked doesn't like to or you'll wind up encouraging the very behavior you're trying to dish out punishment for :)

I agree... but punishment is definitely due... as such regrettable conduct should not be encouraged...

I just saw this, so sorry being late to the discussion as well, but it is an interesting post from a very classy guy.

It was my third time at the party, and it was definitely more fun for me than ever before. Part of it was the weather was just so nice, and part of it is I live here now and the weather was just so nice. Oh, and did I mention the weather was really nice? But the other part of it was that I left a few memorable days feeling more than ever that this is a community I really enjoy being a part of. Some of the people there I've known for years, and some are people - like Tristan - I just met, but all of it left me feeling really good about who I am, what I do, and most important the relationships I have.

It was fun to just sit back and watch how the "pro's" do it. Not that I am exactly ignorant, having been a professional haw for years now. (Am I allowed to use that word?) But it was fun to be in Florida a few months ago when Mr. Traveler got a call from Tristan while we were having lunch and see him just light up. Seeing Tristan do his thing at the party was a little bit like the Susan Boyle moment when she first surfaced. There was a first impression some people had based on very little information. The whole thing about needing to call an intermediary to make an appointment with an escort did rub some people the wrong way, and it sounds like Tristan heard that directly from them. Tristan didn't have to sing "I Dreamed A Dream" to win everybody over, he just had to look like a dream and act friendly and sexy as hell. And I suppose it doesn't hurt to have the body of a God. It was just fun to sit back and watch how somebody who is effortlessly warm and earnest walks in to a situation where people have preconceptions and just charms the hell out of everybody.

Speaking of preconceptions, my "funny thing that happened on the way to the forum" is that I became an escort pretty much feeling many of the things that are either stated or implied by what Tristan is saying. Being an escort puts you in a club of hot, sexy guys, and you get to have a lot of fun, and you get to do "business" with clients that is financially lucrative. That all turned out as planned, fortunately, but the thing I didn't plan on or expect years later is some of the "business relationships" would actually turn into some of the closest and most nurturing and supportive relationships I've ever had. Now that its happened it doesn't actually surprise me as much - it's pretty much what all my clients did in their lives, whether they were a teacher or a lawyer or a corporate bigwig. They built their relationships largely around people they spent their business lives with. We're just in a weird line of business. But it sort of makes sense that if your business is getting naked with people, having sex, and baring your soul in a way you don't do with most people, even in your own family, there might be a surprising level of intimacy and closeness that develops over time. Whether you or somebody you trust screens or schedules clients or not, when it gets down to it, there's really not a lot between you and another human being, other than maybe a few hard cocks .

It was obvious that all the escorts there who had been around had all experienced the same thing in their own ways. It was fun to be around Chris's openness and warmth and curiousity, from the moment he landed and put out invitations to everybody to go have fun, and Tyger's soulful empathy (and fingers - maybe next time I'll get some of that couch thing as well), and Nate's generosity and sincerity, and Ace's down-to-earth friendliness, and Jason's honest and refreshingly blunt way of being very genuine around people (not to mention that perpetually fat, hard cock). It is self-congratulatory to say this, but it all made me feel like I am happy to be part of the community I chose to be part of years ago. And on that note, the escort that most blew my mind was Ace Banner, because it was fascinating to see somebody new to the game navigate unfamiliar surroundings with such sophistication and sexiness, right down to the Southern accent. Oh, so that's how it is done! Y'all must be fixin to have a real good time. :-)

One of the things that felt like a bummer the last few years is spending a lot of time in San Francisco volunteering on the gay marriage thing, and feeling like I got nowhere and accomplished nothing, other than maybe beating my head against the wall. So last year's election was like a huge orgasm for me - all of a sudden after all that time knocking on doors and talking to some hard core bigots, suddenly we won in every state that people made a decision about us, and everything that seemed closed and frustrating was now open and dynamic. That's sort of what the pool party did for me, except in a funner, less abstract way. This weird world of escorts and clients and sex and travel and sophistication has been my version of "gay marriage" for about a dozen years now. Several years ago one client gave me a book on "polyamory" that helped me to understand why I'd made my own unconventional but mostly fulfilling life choices. What connected about the pool party weekend for me, and about all the relationships and memories it encompassed, is that we are all on our own adventures of discovering ourselves, with each other, and this is a different and fun way to have colleagues in crime along the way, whether they are escorts or clients. We are all haws, and while there may still be a few bigots out there, it is definitely no longer a crime, and I just love it. I was delighted to go to my mailbox this week and pull out the Time cover story saying no matter what the Supreme Court decides about marriage, gays have already won. Oliver and Epigonos and the crowd they've helped pull together have made me feel like a winner for years, and I am very grateful for that. Oh, and Oliver - argofuckyourself!

Will be planning a visit out there again soon, and will keep you posted.
