Aging is a funny thing. We're supposed to be at our sexual peak when we're 18 or so. But my sex life has only improved with time as I've gotten more experience and more comfortable with what I enjoy.

 

Now I will say I've noted a troublesome decline in physical endurance when it comes to exercising. It's going to take a lot of dedication and smart planning to get back to the performance level I had even a few years ago.

 

In 2010, I was doing a six-mile course (2 1/2 jogging, 3 1/2 walking) in the midday heat of summer several times a week and I could do 70 to 80 crunches at a time. Today, I had trouble pulling up a hill on a 1 1/2 walk and I'm good for about 40 crunches. On top of that, I've added about 15 pounds, and not in muscle. But it's not affecting my sex life -- yet.

 

It's kind of a shame there's such on emphasis on youthfulness when it comes to the gay community and sex, because I'm a better sex partner today than 20 years ago. Only thing I can say for that is I'm finally aging into my gray hair, which I started getting in my 20s.

No I'm having more trouble getting erections than I did 10 years ago- and I don't shoot nearly as far. While no one would ever want me in a porn movie- I used to shoot decently. I wasn't one who coated the wall behind me- but I used to get a nice 'upward extension' when I came. Gosh, this post sounds a lot more narcissistic today than I meant it to be yesterday. Mainly, I was just trying to say it's too bad there's such a premium on youthful looks, especially in the gay world, because it has so little to do with performance. And I was never much on the youthful look to begin with graying so early.
