Impact of hook up sites on the biz

I know for a fact that before grindr in NYC some escorts would be hired by hot guys who wanted something NOW...

 

It still happens...hence the reason that I don't think the hookup sites' impact is as intimidating as it appears. We're also in a period where gas is flirting around $4 a gallon. A few years ago that was astronomical. Now, we've just sort of put up with it at the expense of certain extras. Not everyone wants or can drive a Prius. Even your typical Mercedes gets only 15-25 mpg combined.

 

Not saying that is the main culprit, but these things combined is making for an increasingly challenging playing field. I don't think it's just 1 thing. There's still guys out there hiring, but it seems to be the guys out there that usually hire anyway. I think there's a need for new guys to step in, but with all these different variables it's kind of holding things back. If you can travel, you get an upper hand by being able to continually meet the ones who hire rotationally. If not, well you're stuck with what you have locally until someone new comes around.
