I was watching the super bowl (I know, me and 108 million of my closest friends). Laying in bed with my partner reveling that the Ravens won. And cameras were following the big players around. When the microphone picked up MVP Joe Flacco hugging a friend, and screaming "This is Fucking Awesome". I did a spit take. Somehow, I think CBS may be answering to the FCC for that one. But it was real and it was exciting. But I'm sure there were southern belles in Georgia clutching their pearls and feeling the vapors overcoming them.

Anybody else hear it as it occurred? No one in my office did.

Yes, I noticed it. It was said so quickly, almost indistinctly, that I wonder how many people heard it. Not like what VP Biden said to President Obama when Obama signed the health care bill! If the FCC makes a big deal of this, it will just draw attention to something that many people hardly noticed, if at all. It wasn't as if Flacco shouted it from a podium.

Maybe, but how long was Janet Jackson's boob exposed? Nanoseconds. And they tried to enforce a multimillion dollar fine.

I heard it and chalked it up to the dangers of live TV. There must not have been a seven second delay program set for this event. I'd hope the FCC cuts some slack on this one. It was such an incredible game it's understandable Flacco would utter such in all the excitement.

Best game in years, not a blowout by one team over the other. Best halftime show in a decade, Beyonce Sings!!! And the power goes out for half an hour totally changing the momentum. Perhaps every Superbowl should have a blackout planned for halftime from now on. :)

I heard what flowed from Joe Flacco's mouth oh so easily and thought it was in very bad taste. I abhor the overly used word "awesome"-- and when he made the remark using "fucking"-- it became worse.

And I definitely "aint no prude."

I noticed it and also noted a change in the sound almost immediately afterward as though they pulled back from trying to catch on field antics.

As for the statement that this was the best game in years. i think last year's game was better. One could also make a case for the other Giant win over the Patriots with the famous helmet catch as being better.
