Another awkward, but fun night at Skin. Don't google Skin... it's a titty bar... they just let the homos invade at the end of random holiday weekends when the straight guys are busy watching football.

 

It's a confusing event. The building follows all of the policies and procedures of their normal straight night routines... which is unfortunate. Pretty much all of us who live here have had loads of fun in Fort Lauderdale for far less. So the notion of paying a $15-25 cover, $150 for 15 minutes in a private room or $25-$50 per song for a un-private dance without a curtain... just seems absurd. Then to add to the confusion, at lulls they offer buy 1 get 1 free specials... but only on the per song dances, not VIP rooms.

 

Anyway my head was spinning from all the math... clearly it's not from the alcohol - because there is none served since the performers are nude. Yeah that really sucks. I'd be content with some undies & speedos if I can have some liquid encouragement readily available.

 

Let's just get to the good stuff. This was the 3rd one of these I've been to. The roster was a little lackluster this time. One cute blond twink "Derrick Porter" (porn kid). One chunky but sexy gay boy from College Boys Live "Dixie". There was a guy who I always see at Liquid - straight former military guy with wild skateboarder type hair named "Uriah" - probably 22ish, little bit buff. Great straight guy smile. There were quite a few Cuban and Latinos... lots of 6s and 7s. No real duds. I would guess about 15 dancers in all.

 

Unfortunately the cutest guys were unavailable. There were some smokin' hot customers (who didn't partake... they just observed... probably just were curious since we don't have clubs like this here). There was a cute "shot boy" (what's the purpose of a shot boy when you don't serve alcohol?) who wasn't dancing or doing privates. He basically brings you your $6 water. That shot of water really messed me up I'll tell ya.

 

One highlight of the night was meeting up with fellow poster "dekim." Super guy who was a lot more familiar with the guys and rate structure... probably more familiar with them then the dancers themselves. He also was smart enough to bring his own liquid refreshment.

 

Another highlight was a somewhat cute (even with his ginormous nose) dorky guy, about 22 or 23, who was blasted out of his mind. Clearly he must've taken advantage of the free shuttle back to Liquid to liquor up. He was tipping every dancer anytime one of them batted an eyelash at him. He was hotter than most of the dancers which is the ironic part. I'd imagine the Federal Reserve must have had to put in some OT to produce the number of $1s that guy tossed on stage.

 

The annoying part of the night? The club apparently is overly fond of the $2 bill. I forgot they even exist. If they have to make change for you, best believe you're getting $2s. So now I've got a stack of 'em. Can't wait to see the baffled faces of drive thru employees over the next couple weeks. I'd imagine some will start crying and quit on the spot.

 

A monitor flashed an ad for their next event... July 4. Yeah I'm not waitin' that long... time for a Fort Lauderdale road trip!

Definitely enjoyed meeting Jake at last night’s event. He’s very funny & although it was difficult to hear over the music, I think he’s got some tantalizing tales to tell. I also think he has plans to corrupt me (oops, too late for that!) with the temptation of a trip to Prague.

 

I agree about the pricing at Skin. Apparently it works for the straight guys who frequent the place on its regular nights, but not so much for those of us who get more bang for our bucks at Johnny’s (& at the Boardwalk before they renovated the lap dance room). I did however, partake in some of the 2 for 1 nude dance specials. Just doing my part to help stimulate the, um, local economy. Also, several of the dancers I’ve gotten to know at Liquid & Bradley’s so I wanted to encourage their dancing pursuits…yeah, that’s it.

 

Luckily Jake & I have different tastes in dancers (I wouldn’t stand a chance if we had to arm wrestle over a dancer…I believe that‘s the accepted gentlemen‘s way of settling such dilemmas). There were 5 guys I’m very familiar with and was hoping to see. Was not disappointed by what I saw, either. There were a couple others, especially a tall Latino who caught my attention too. For those of us seated up against the stage some of the dancers gave us great views & included audience participation…Jake’s cap became a prop more than once . Oh, and I tried for Jake’s sake to get the “shot boy” to get up on the stage but he claimed to be too shy.

 

All in all, hanging out with a friend, meeting Jake & another patron, watching naked men dance on stage as well as in the lap dance booth, not a bad way to spend a Sunday evening. Like Jake, though, it’s got me planning a trip to Ft. Lauderdale in the near future.

Agreed, I was fighting the spontaneous Ft. Lauderdale road trip urge all week lol. If I didn't have to work this weekend, I'd be there right now. No doubt though there will be one in the next few weeks!

Next all nude male event in Tampa is set for Sunday, January 19th (MLK weekend): The Men of Liquid at Club Skin. Organizers are planning to keep the lineup limited to a dozen or so dancers, promising quality over quantity. Several crowd favorites from the last few shows are returning. Travis, who was a big hit at the Labor Day weekend show and who has been working at both Swinging Richards' locations, will be back. Also featured will be our local porn star Hunter Vance. There will be free shuttle service to & from Liquid for those wanting alcohol breaks.

Hey Jake, maybe this year. Gotta do the Keys first, then will see. I gotta say that Ybor City was pretty damn interesting. We went on Saint Patty's Day, but the place was like New Orleans at Mardi Gras....it was party central..
