I'm a long time lurker (first time poster) here and since there hasn't been much buzz about the Montreal clubs lately, thought I would share my recent experience. We arrived on Dec. 27 after the city had just received the largest single day snowfall in history, almost 50 cm (a foot and a half) but Montreal knows how to handle it and all the downtown streets and sidewalks had been cleared by the evening so we ventured out.

Taboo was out first stop and considering the weather, there were a decent number of dancers and customers... 'retired' dancer Diego was tending bar and gave us a warm welcoming hug and later brought a couple of the boys to our table. Owner Jerry (a former waiter who still makes sure customers are served) was very welcoming and even comped a round of drinks for our table. I took my dancer to the back and had a great time... he wasn't counting dances but sure delivered the goods and I tipped him well. Dances are $10 per song and while there are no curtains there was plenty of contact, at least with this guy.

The second night we started out at Campus in the afternoon and it was very busy. The dancer that caught my eye was a short, blonde boy with a big package that he generously shared with me in the back room. I told him up front I wanted 4 dances but he kept going for another couple of songs and said it was his Christmas present for me... wow, that doesn't happen very often! There were a few other 'boy next door' types that put on great stage shows but we left before the big muscle guys arrived and after dinner went back to Taboo where it was quite busy with lots of dancers and customers.

Stock Bar was packed Friday and Saturday nights and aside from the usual muscle guys there were a few younger, athletic types that caught my eye. Stock always has lots of energy and puts on a great show, including duos on stage and in the shower area. Well worth the $3 cover charge. Stock is the only dancer bar that has a cover charge by the way.

The only disappointment was JP's, although we didn't expect much from previous experience... it was dead. There were only a few dancers and they were, let's just say 'unattractive'. A waste of time going there so we didn't stay long and didn't go back.

It was the first time we'd been there in a year and a half and all in all it was a great time in Montreal. While not at it's peak, it's certainly not as bad as some posters here have been saying. I do hope the recent positive reports about the Fort Lauderdale / Miami clubs are accurate because that's where I'm headed next, for the sunshine of course and maybe a few boys on the side

ZZED... Welcome to daddy's and congrats on your 1st post. It was well written and most informative... Glad you had a good time in Montreal... I agree with you on Cabaret formerly JP's.. Not sure why that club can't work out their problems. Here in NY cover charges range from $10 to $30. Stock's cover sounds like a real bargain especially with all that you get... Hope to read more posts by you.

Thanks Cooper... actually JP's was formerly known as Adonis and used to be quite the spot. It's where Ralph Woods started dancing and met Pierre Fitch who was also dancing there. Pierre's still going strong in the porn world but Ralph has retired and is doing 'non-sexual' massage work in Montreal.

Zzed, You must have been at JP's on one of its last nights. I heard it's been closed for about a month.

Do you know more? Why it closed? Whether/when it's reopening?

Newatthis... I heard it has something to do with obtaining a new liquor license. I have no idea how long that can take. Perhaps someone in Montreal can provide more information. Coop
