NYC - physician recommendations

Hey guys!

I tried searching the threads, but couldn't find anything...

 

I was wondering if any of my fellow escorts (or clients for that matter) can recommend a good physician in the city. I'm also good with seeing a Physician's Assistant or Nurse Practitioner if they provide really good care.

 

To start, I know about Dr. Grossman at Alphabettercare and that's just not gonna work out.

 

I'm looking for someone who is experienced in Men's sexual health and who is very open minded just as a general practitioner.

Stephen E. Goldstone, M.D.

 

Stephen E. Goldstone's New York City medical practice specializes in ano/rectal disorders. Dr. Goldstone is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and on the teaching faculty of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. In addition, he holds hospital appointments at Mount Sinai Medical Center and Cabrini Medical Center, both in New York City. After graduating from college Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, Dr. Goldstone enrolled in the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. While there, he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society. Dr. Goldstone completed a residency in General Surgery at the Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine where he achieved distinction for both his clinical and teaching skills. In addition to several awards for teaching excellence, he held the title of Chief Resident in General Surgery for the final two years of his training.

 

Upon completing his residency, Dr. Goldstone was made the Assistant Director of Surgery at the Hospital of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. In addition to his clinical duties with patients, Dr. Goldstone led the medical students during their surgical clerkship. He left his position in 1987 to open a private office in Manhattan.

 

Since then, Dr. Goldstone has had a busy surgical practice in New York City specializing in general surgery with a special interest in laser surgery. He is openly gay and has attracted a large gay patient population. They come to him for his expertise in ano/rectal disorders with the knowledge that they can talk openly about their problems without fear or embarrassment. For most gay men this is a luxury. Dr. Goldstone prides himself on not only caring for his patients' medical problems, but also because he uses the time to teach them about safe sexual practice and sexually transmitted diseases. Some patients are shocked at first by his frank discussions of topics usually kept "in the closet" by most doctors, but they are never sorry. Dr. Goldstone is a recognized authority on gay ano/rectal disorders and is featured prominently in the forthcoming The GMHC Guide to Gay Men's Health and Good Living. He has published many clinical investigative articles in leading medical journals.

 

He has been featured in a segment on ABC News relating to laser surgery and has been interviewed many times on radio call-in shows. In addition, he has spoken to the medical community at national meetings as well as at hospital seminars.

They charge $200 a year just to belong, but then the physicians are not rushed, same-day appointments are always available, and your appointment starts on time-- well worth a $200 annual fee. The physical space is stunning at each location. I think most of their doctors are hip with gay men's health, but I'm sure you can call and get a specific referral of you're more comfortable with that.

Check out Metrosource NYC magazine, a freebie magazine available in gay bookstores and bars.

I get mine at Rainbows and Triangles on Eighth Avenue between 19th and 20th Sts.

Also available at Unicorn Adult Bookstore 22nd St and Eighth Ave, and many bars and adult bookstores around town.

Metrosource NYC has many ads for medical services and physicians located in NYC.

 

Continue to ask friends for their recommendations.

Do you have health insurance? If so, your insurance probably has preferred physican lists.

 

Check web sites, like Web MD or even Yelp for patient reviews on doctors.

 

There are also a number of walkin clinics around town such as CityMed that you might want to take advantage of if you don't have any on-going medical problems.

 

Check with the Gay and Lesbian Center in NYC if they have any medical info or referrals available.

I really like my Dr. who is Dr. Stephen Dillon on 14th street. He's gay, personable and I trust him.
