I was informed that using PayPal to pay Escorts is a bad idea because if PayPal is even remotely suspicious of you using your account for escort and masseur services, they'll kick you out for life. Is that true?

From the Paypal Acceptable Use Policy:

You may not use the PayPal service for activities that:

violate any law, statute, ordinance or regulation.

(h) certain sexually oriented materials or services,
(i) ammunition, firearms, or certain firearm parts or accessories, or (j) ,certain weapons or knives regulated under applicable law.

They will freeze your account as soon as they catch it and will take up to 180 days to send any money left in your account. Check out this story: http://elliotjaystocks.com/blog/good-riddance-paypal/

"And really it all comes down to that. If PayPal want to hold your money, they can, and they will. A freeze on your account means you absolutely cannot get at your own money, and even if you eventually do, it will only be after a hefty delay and in staggered percentages. Can a bank do this to you? No, they can’t. So why should PayPal?"

For more fun a Google search of "paypal horror stories" will produces hours of stories to read.

In addition to Daddy's comments, commercial banks are bad enough but I find PayPal to be a real rip-off. I would never willingly use them for anything.

"Cash is King"! It used to be No Paper Trail Please. Now the smart guy says No E Trail Please!

A Deposit before an OverNiter with Newbie Client? That's Tricky for a couple of reasons!

Depends on how the escort has their business set up.

For instance, I take cards. My business (according to the government) is consulting. You are not paying for "certain sexually oriented materials or services" when you hire me, you are hiring my consulting service and paying for my time.

But on that note, I've had a guy try to pre-pay me with Paypal using a spoof paypal email. It was pretty embarassing for him when I called him out.

If for some reason you don't want to give an escort cash, as in sending an appointment advance or money for airfare then a postal money order works well. If the escort doesn't want to give you his real name the only chance you take is sending a blank money order through the mail. I personally could care less about a paper trail but a buyer doesn't even have to put his name on a postal money order. I used to do this all the time for airfare (though I always knew the escorts well enough that they gave me their real names). Nowadays I simply send them a personal check or reimburse them when we get together.

The idea of leaving any money lying around in a 3rd party that isn't even a bank is not my thing. It's one thing to trust your client is going to pay, and then trust the bank without some middleman screwing things up.

That said, regardless of what was written, guys have been using paypal for ages. Especially if it's an occasional thing. I wouldn't recommend using it for every single client. And transfer funds to your own bank soon as its sent as once the money is 'withdrawn', they can't reverse it. I know because when I first used it I had no idea the money wouldn't hit my account instantly, but since I'd already transferred it...they couldn't stop the process.

I'd say use it, but don't leave money in there any longer than necessary and don't use the prepaid debit card they offer either, even though they tout it as receiving the money instantly.

I had mine frozen years ago - it only had £60 in it, I suspected at the time it was another malicious escort who reported it to paypal. I still have a paypal account and accept deposits on it but I don't advertise it anywhere and I never withdraw the money, I use it to buy my printer cartridges, iPhone accessories and selected Christmas presents on ebay and once I used it for a hotel stay when they accepted paypal. That way it doesn't look like you're using it to take money for deposits and it looks more casual. They have capped limits on how much you can take in a year anyway and how much you can withdraw before having to submit further details about yourself to them.

In the paypal rules posted above I didn't see any violation being committed for paying for someone's time. As surely as any escort site can stay up and running so can a transaction in paypal be used. I use it all the time. NEVER mention anything about the service. I put consultation in my payment info. I feel that way if the escort fails to come through I have recourse because they did not provide the consultation. Of course I have never had a problem because I only deal with people well reviewed on Daddys. Some of the remarks here about trusting a third party etc. really sound old fashioned. People have been using paypal for years now with no problem. Has anyone ever known any escort who was 'kick out for life" etc.

When I have NOT wanted to pay escorts all of their fee in cash recently, I've used my cc to pay for hour two. They've eagerly used Paypal. Perhaps the profession listed with Paypal by these two men has been "consultants." I don't know. I only know that my credit cards were processed and the escort sent me a bill of sale {receipts} via my email address. As far as I am concerned, "all is right with the world."

I have on two occasions in 2012 had clients extend that way whilst at a hotel. An anonymous unverfied PayPal account can only transact up to about £1800 a year (which most escorts will have) after that they need to supply additional proof of identification. £1800 is enough for me because I use it for online purchases and never withdraw it (as I said). On both occasions he sent the money to me and the neat iPhone app sent me a push notification in seconds that the money was there. Seamless transaction. It was better than him leaving the room to get cash. It real passion killer but this made it an an easy transaction over a glass of wine.
