You seem to think there is shame or disrespect here. There isn't.

Senator James Inuoye of Hawaii died yesterday. Every story reporting his death gave the cause. Was that shameful?

Once again. I am not questioning the reason. I am objecting to the proper area for posting on the Forum. Since my posting, I have been cautioned not to question you. If that's the case, I guess this is not an OPEN FORUM. Let Daddy decide!!

It needs to be brought up because it's a fact. It is not a shameful fact, it is just a fact.

There was a time when cancer was so hidden it wouldn't be mentioned as a cause of death. Cancer prevention efforts suffered from the shame. We started losing the fight against HIV/AIDS when it went hidden, including in obituaries. There is no shame in mentioning it.

There is great shame in clucking and pointing fingers like little old ladies, but there is nothing shameful in mentioning an AIDS-related cause of death.

Thank you Deej for articulating this point. You are exactly right here, which is why I was so saddened by the cause. I know young co-workers in their 20's that think that HIV is not an issue. No one here is judging his life, certainly not I. I think my comment was respectful, it was how I felt when I typed it, I am truly and deeply saddened by another young life that is gone too soon because of this hideous dease...

Farewell to a Gentle Spirit and Beautiful Soul...

It is heartbreaking to learn about Josh's passing. With all his greatness on screen, Josh will be missed more for his gentle spirit, fun-loving personality, compassion for others, and most of all for his kind heart. Rest in Peace, Beautiful Soul.

If it was a heart condition (the original report), I doubt that the thread be hijacked in this way. There's no disrespect in knowing the cause of death. Much of the porn industry is HIV+.

They said complications from HIV which could still be a heart failure issue.

Truly sad though. God he died so young. I believe in the saying.."i am my brothers keeper". Especially, important at this time of the year. I just hope he had someone there to take care of him and let him know that he was loved.

We already have moderators. Thanks, anyway.

LOL! That's rich! All in one post you attempt censorship and then whine about it where it doesn't exist.

Step away from the keyboard, sir.

You have only taken part of what I posted. I did not disagree with posting the reason, however, I thought it could be posted in a different thread out of RESPECT to the man and his family and friends, but that is probably not going to happen because of the negative route the Forum seems to be moving!!!!

Bill,

I totally get what you're saying. You and I come from a disappearing time when expressions of respects and sympathy need not include the details of death. In my hometown, printed obituaries never contain the specific cause of death out of respect to the departed, his/her family and their privacy. A loved one has been lost and for that we express our feelings, in that context it does not matter how or why they passed, only that they are gone. Dignity and respect are becoming lost social graces.

dignity and respect aside, we are all interested in what happened, and the word gets around any way, it's how you deal with it in the face of his family and friends, and how you use the information, hopefully you keep it to yourself and not use it to discredit the person.

I was very sad to hear this news. I always wished to meet him. I was also shocked and saddened to hear about Adam Faust as I didn't know about him until now. I actually met him on a plane once. I don't look at Rentboy ads in LA as much as I used to so, I didn't realize his ever present ad was gone. May Josh, Adam, Sean, and Dror rest in peace. And when thinking of them, my hope is that their memories will always be a source of strength and solace to the loved ones and friends they left behind.

I am truly saddened to hear that Josh Weston has died. I first met him while he was still dancing at the Nob Hill and just before the release of his first Falcon DVD. He had an absolutely gorgeous body yet was somewhat shy and very modest. We talked for some time regarding his interest in photography. He was a VERY nice human being.

I never met Josh and, in fact, never realized he also escorted. However, I fondly remember his video performances. He had the most exquisite physique--as if it had been carved out of marble. His butt was nothing short of perfection. Makes me sad to know he's gone at such a young age. I hope he was happy and surrounded by loving friends during his final days.

Tomorrow, January 20th would have been Josh Weston's 40th birthday.

I'll have a special thought about him. I hope he is in a better place now.

January 20 was the birthday of another escort, one I remember on this day as well. Thank you for reminding me, Steven.

39 is so young.

There are so many stories like this of people who work in this industry. Very sad. Are there stories of guys in the porn industry living to ripe old ages without any work-related or drug-related or sex-related diseases? Or drug or alcohol problems? Sure would be nice to hear the happy endings.

I never thought that "dignity and respect" included lying. I'm old enough as well to remember newspapers in the South when they published obituaries of black folks not using Mr. or Mrs. but just the name. I'm old enough to remember when papers wouldn't list your gay partner as your next-of-kin.

So there are a lot of things that are, happily, going by the wayside. Cause of death is -- and should be -- one of them. Cause of death should be listed. Not "passed away after a long illness." It's part of the story.

Steven, Thanks for the thoughtful remembrance. You, sir, are a class act.

He is a PERSON with family and friends who mourn his lost.

If you want to preach your beliefs, start another thread on the Forum. I do not disagree with your beliefs, but they do not belong on this thread RESPECT is a very important word.

Funny, how it wasn’t a problem when the cause of death was originally posted as being due to heart failure. And no protest of the posting of a pic of him with a raging hard on (how appropriate is that?). So much for respect, eh? I didn’t know who he was, but I’ll bet there was a lot more to his life than just being a “porn star”.

I never met Mr. Weston, but wish I had. Thanks to Steven and all the others who have posted about him and the pleasant and fun memories they have of him. I too am saddened by the cause of death, but see no disrespect in being honest about it. I also don't see any disrespect in posting that wonderful picture of him with a hard on. I think he frankly might appreciate seeing that on this Forum, given the focus and thrust (no pun intended) in this forum. So RIP Josh, and my deepest sympathy to your family and friends who mourn your loss.
