Jesse McCartney--a surprising story of lost looks

I remember seeing a picture of Jesse McCartney, the singer/actor, not half a dozen years ago, and thought to myself "He's going to be super hot when he gets older...". I kind of forgot about him, but ran across a recent picture of him. I'm really amazed at how he's really managed to lose his looks. Unlike Zac Efron, who just got hotter as he got older, I hardly even recognize this guy any more. Here's what he looked at 18 or 19:

Well he hasnt necessarily LOST his looks, just kinda "rearranged" them. I think he still has a "boyish" vibe, but certainly not the "poster boy" he once was.

 

Thats the thing about youth, when its gone, it aint cummin back, and its a bitch. Yeah guys like George Clooney have gotten hotter with age, but most kinda turn out like Arnold Schwarzenegger....

That is a surprising transformation. Was drugs involved? He was a gorgeous young lad and now looks like he is in his 40s?? Wasn't there two chicks fighting over him or is that another teeny booper-I can't keep them straight.

I remember imagining with some excitement how handsome I thought Jesse McCartney was going to end up looking like, so I was very disturbed at how he turned out. As another poster mentioned, yes, that is oral herpes in that picture with a denim jacket. According to Wikipedia : HSV-1 affected 57.7% of Americans tested in a 1999-2004 study.[2] By age 50, 80%–90% of adults have the virus.[3] More than 50 million adults in the U.S. develop symptomatic episodes every year. In other words, most of us carry the virus, but only a fraction get recurring outbreaks.

As a physician, I would usually associate such a horrid loss of good looks with substance abuse. Most commonly a loss of good looks like that would go with methamphetamine abuse, although meth addicts usually don't have such good teeth, assuming those are real. Maybe he gained all that weight because of pot? This is all pure speculation, naturally, but after a couple of decades practicing medicine, I've developed a pretty good batting average with my intuition (definitely not always right, of course!), so I would call is somewhat educated speculation. Whatever the cause, it's probably not too late for him to develop a healthier lifestyle, and I hope he has the strength to turn his life around. I would disagree with one poster who felt Jesse just lost his youthful good looks. A man should be near his peak at 25, and this amount of change is really shocking to witness. This is a picture of oral herpes from wikipedia. It looks just like it came from Jesse's picture with the denim jacket!

Hmmm. You may wish to purchase one of those $7 reading glasses you can get at Target. Jesse has more wrinkles on his face at 25 than I have at about twice his age. Maybe all of the cum shot on my face over the years had a rejuvenating effect? TeeHee

He's just a kid in the first pics. Now he's an adult and he doesn't have much in the way of wrinkles. Most of that is just him smiling and the rest is just natural creases. I'm glad some of you gurls are so perfect. I agree with Jim. Damn.

Hey all of You, theres a thing called "The Aging Process"........ you AGE.......you gain weight, get puffy and wrinkled, your skin changes appearance, your hair thins, your teeth yellow. Now there are things you might do to slow this process and make the "process" gentler, but it WILL get you and you will look different than you did in your youth. Perhaps we hold celebrities and Notables up to different standards. ? We shouldnt. If Jesse is OK with his appearance, why shouldnt WE be ??? Its OK to note a change, and if he is NOT your type, thats OK too, but criticism is harsh and unneccesary. He didnt do this to Himself. Its Mother Natures fault, so send HER your hate mail !

Nah. Something is drastically different with him. He is 25-not 45. All of us grow old or fat and/or both. But 25 is not old enough for the aging process to kick in-unless something is off genetically.

 

Now most think he is crazy, but Tom Cruise has held up very well for his age. If this guy was 45-fine-but 25 is just the prime of youth. Not old fart territory. The only people I have seen that age who have aged prematurely was meth addicts . Which is why I wonder if drugs were involved.

 

There is only a 6yr age gap between the first set and the 25 yr-which does make one wonder what happened.
