Hooray! Google has released a map app for the iPhone today. It's available for free via iTunes.

Thanks for the heads up. I've been thinking about switching from Android to Apple, and must admit that this maps snafu was weighing against it for me. Now just have to scrounge up the dough, plus the $200 early termination fee to make the switch. May have to wait until the New Year. Thanks again, Kevin.

You can sell your Android phone on the eBay for a couple $100 or so to someone who doesn't want the 2 year commitment hassle or has broken theirs.

Best Buy offers cash for used phones if they are in good conditions. I took advantage of that offer to receive $$s toward the purchase of an iPhone.

I haven't upgraded my iOS yet, but I like the new Gmap app better than the native version with Maps. HATE HATE HATE the Apple version, which I tried to use on a client's phone and got lost.

I don't like google maps I've had to many clients get lost using it. when i text my address i make a point of telling them not too use google

Just used it to go to a job interview. The voice feature was quite helpful, but the app kept trying to get me to turn down a one-way street.

You can as long as it's unlocked. The Samsung is generally not able to be unlocked.

One big difference is Google offers transit and walking directions in addition to driving directions. If you're in the handful of cities like I am in NYC, it makes a big difference.
