Unless there is something more to this, such as inappropriate behavior, I don't think Elmo can expect his request to be honored as i believe it would be illegal to discriminate against the puppeteer. I would expect the union to support the puppeteer if he refused to be reassigned. I am personally very disappointed that Elmo has taken the position he has.

Remember, it's always the closeted ones who make the most fuss. I figure any day now we'll see a news report on "closeted gay puppet caught in steamy afternoon liaison with [name your favorite male escort.]" We just talked about twin sex and albino midget sex - anyone into puppets??

I just hope that Bert and Ernie don't have any problems with their puppeteers since we do know for a fact that they are gay.

 

Of course, Elmo would have to be just one dumb lump of cloth to not know that Kevin Clash is gay. My partner's known for years.

 

My partner was a friend of Kevin Clash when he worked at Jim Henson's a couple of decades ago and is obviously very disturbed by this story and glad to see that Kevin's name has been cleared.
