It was great! One only wonders how long it will be before we see it happen?

 

Parts of it are already here, of course. Many of us wear eyeglasses with "progressive" lenses that darken based on ambient light.

 

Two things struck me about the video, though. 1) It's strikingly similar to a video produced for a book about interfaces written written 20+ years ago, and 2) it didn't come from a computer company; it came from a glass company.

 

OK, maybe three: A lot of it is viable today albeit expensive due to a lack of widespread adoption.

I think it demonstrates that the words "technology" and "innovation" extend beyond the computer industry.

So did the glass in your iPhone - that stuff that didn't come from a computer company - iPhones have Corning Glass faces.

Sandy makes you wonder what happens to all this technology when the power's out? Or when there's a virus attack?
