There is an article out today about an 18 year old football player in ND who, while on a trip with team, was filming the game from the broadcast booth when he turned to kiss his 65 year old boyfriend. The player was dropped from the team and of course that is raising a controversy. But I want to say HURRAH a 65 year old man in ND found a boyfriend and he is an 18 year old football player. That has got to prove that there is a God and he is Gay or at least Gay Friendly.

Now PK, you know there are lots of us "older" gents that can easily afford to "purchase" a young, hot boytoy. It has nothing to do with God..... Its all about finances.... :o

 

But regardless, good for HIM for putting his "love" on display !

This young man may be in it for the money but I do not get that feeling after reading the article. So perhaps you are right that it is financial incentive, i on the other hand would opt for divine, simply devine, John Waters Devine, intervention.

The fact that the young man is in it for financial gain is the easy answer, but no one knows that for sure. There are many young men out there that are attracted to older men, just as there are guys who are 'Chubby Chaser"...much of that I don't understand, but for now I am content to just enjoy this story and take it at face value. God works in all kinds of mysterious ways, "One never knows, do one" It did make me smile today PK, thanks for sharing.

Thank you for this thread. I've noticed over the last couple of years a building attraction for young MEN for more mature guys in the working guy world but also in our local encounters. While I'm sure that some are financially motivated, I think there is a huge increase between these 2 groups for non-financial reasons.

Well I really should clarify. We often type things and automatically assume that everyone understands us, when that is clearly not the case. In this post, I am saying that I understand that young men can be attracted to older men, as in the case of the older gentlemen with the 18 year old football player, or in the case where men are attracted to 'chubby men'...and I think that is wonderful. To that end, I think we should take PK's story at face value. For me, however those are not attractions that I am into, not that I don't understand them, I do, I am just not into that scene.

 

I remember the other day I was watching 'Logo' and there was a story on this man who was somewhere around 300 pounds, as I recall, and his bf was some hot muscle stud. I thought it was wonderful. I really believe that there are all kinds of different attractions that people have, that are way out of the norm. I think that it is important that people recognize that and embrace those attitudes, and truly believe that it is possible for an 18 year old to be truly attracted to an older man, for reasons other than money. That is just my opinion of course and I am sure many will disagree..hope this clarifies. Regards, BVB

Sorry for the highjack, but that line always brings me a smile. As does this story:

 

His playing once put him at risk of injury. Waller was kidnapped in Chicago leaving a performance in 1926. Four men bundled him into a car and took him to the Hawthorne Inn, owned by Al Capone. Waller was ordered inside the building, and found a party in full swing. Gun to his back, he was pushed towards a piano, and told to play. A terrified Waller realized he was the "surprise guest" at Capone's birthday party, and took comfort that the gangsters didn't intend to kill him. According to rumor, Waller played for three days. When he left the Hawthorne Inn, he was very drunk, extremely tired, and had earned thousands of dollars in cash from Capone and other party-goers as tips.

 

Back to the topic at hand, the football player says he was the one who initiated the relationship and no one has challenged him. The story here, I think, is the outsized reaction by a coach and a school who think in terribly narrow-minded ways and have no problem with dashing a young man's hopes over something as simple as a kiss.

 

I think the boy is well out of that backwater, and hope the publicity will help put him on a path that takes him to a much better place. Ideally, with his boyfriend at his side.

Could also be that there aren't all that many available men in podunk North Dakota either. So that might have something to do with the coupling.

Absolutely, the story is one of narrow-minds wielding their power. I'm with you in hoping that the publicity gives them both the courage to persevere.
