So since I post lots of threads about clients DOs and DON'Ts, here's one where clients get to say WHY or WHY NOT.

 

The facts:

 

Here's Mick. He's allegedly a straight construction worker from Minnesota (now in Denver). I found him this morning while surfing. His copy is kinda interesting, and his pics range from okay to blurry. At least one of them is straight from iStock photo, and is cropped to hide it. He has "rating unavailable" on his M4RN profile.

 

He has two reviews on Daddy's, both from 1st time reviewers. He wants $220/hr.

 

SO—would you hire him? Why or why not?

No phone number. 2 equally short and uninformative reviews, at least the details they filled out on the information is different. Googled the email address and got nothing beyond the daddy's reviews. Not unusual, but indicates limited exposure. Lists age at 38, which either means he's honest about that part or he's older.

 

I'd probably pass.

I probably would not hire him, but if there weren't other escorts available and our email exchange went well I might take a chance. The reasons for not hiring:

 

- Two of the pictures are blurry beyond belief

- He is squeezing his cock in one of the pics. I don't know why guys do this...makes me think he can't get hard

- Ad doesn't say much about him or his likes/dislikes

 

On the plus side, three of his pics share the same background, which indicates they are of the same person.

Doesn't it really come down to supply and demand? If you're in a part of the country that is underserved by working guys, then probably the answer is yes. Go to RB and scroll through the cities in the USA. Believe it or not there are entire states that have no one offering any kind of escort services. Under those circumstances, who wouldn't hire him?

I love conversing with men from the world of construction. I'm a closet architect/builder so I can imagine a real fun time. Lord knows, I own all the right tools.

 

Blurry face pictures are kind of necessary if you wish to remain discreet in that field of employment. I would definitely ask for some kind of face photo, and see how he responds.

 

If you can trust the photos, from the neck down he looks like a sexy man. And I imagine his voice doesn't sound like Ross Mathews. So, sure, I see no reason not to hire.

I am not entirely sure Mick is being honest about his pics. The 2 "workie" type pics are pixelated when expanded which makes me feel like they've been acquired elsewhere.

That's a very good point about considering the alternatives. (and as an aside - M4RN often has listings for cities where Rb has little or nothing.)

 

I probably wouldn't hire the guy because he implies he's straight, and I want sex with a guy who likes sex with men.

Unless you can match the image to a stock photo, there's no way to prove the hardhat photos aren't the guy.

 

The "pixelated" image is actually a destroyed JPEG, which is easy to do if the image has been "saved" more than once or re-sized improperly. I would say the distorted image is suspicious because I see no reason why the face can't be blurred and the body left in focus, if the photo was legit. But the truth is, most escorts don't know Photoshop. They don't know how to properly edit their images with any software program. And re-sizing/compression mistakes are made all the time because people don't understand how the numbers are supposed to work. Even in the professional world, I'm amazed by how many people in so called corporate "graphics" departments haven't a clue what they're doing.

 

The real point is: why attract any suspicion in the area of photo legitimacy? If you truly work in construction, how difficult is it to dress and pose for an anonymous photo? I would ask the guy about those photos and see how he responds. Maybe he would admit the hardhat photos are used to convey a visual suggestion but aren't actually of him. If all the naked photos are legit, I see no reason why the guy can't use photos that suggest his career, as long as he's honest about it when you ask.

 

Yes, honesty is difficult to gauge, but if you ask enough questions, eventually your gut will tell you yea or nay.

I mean, to be honest maybe he's just using the pic to establish the construction worker theme. I don't think he's being terribly dishonest with it—after all it's just a shot of someone with construction gear on.
