This year I feel privileged to ride 125 miles on September 15th from Boston to Provincetown in support of Fenway Health and other organizations fighting for those of us with HIV+/Aids. I have been so lucky in my own fight in that I have a doctor and meds which are assisting me in leading a life with hope for the future.

I also am blessed to have so much in my life which is positve(no pun here). I have both the means and the insurance which are huge weapons in the fight agains AIDS...not all are so lucky. My med alone are over $2500.00 per month. Not all have insurance to cover this staggering cost. Yet Fenway Health is there for them.

It is for them and for all of us who fight this every day that I am trying to raise the $1,000.00 (more if I can) to help the Fenway organization continue to do for others what they have done for me this past year.

For the first time in several years I feel strong enough at 62 to take this on for other members of our community fighting this disease. I know that you are all bombarded with requests like this everyday. I am asking you as a friend and a member of our community to support my efforts with whatever you can afford. 100% of the money raised by riders like myself, goes directly to the agencies that provide quality health care, medications, support, as well as HIV/AIDS prevention education.

My goal is to raise in excess of $1000.00 this year. Please join me in making a difference in the world we all share and a difference in the lives of so many we live with.

Thanks for reading this and any consideration you can give to supporting my ride. Thanks.

Here's a little help and encouragement from a 4-time veteran of the AIDS Life Cycle in California.

Steven,

Your generosity and your support mean a lot to me....Thank You. 125 miles pales in comparison to your Caifornia ride but for me it is a huge goal and to be able to both prove myself stron enough and to give something back is huge for me....Thanks.

Just a quick update and Thank you to those who donated to my ride......I am happy to report that on Saturday, September 15th I sucessfully completed my ride from Boston to P-Town, 125 miles. I began at 6:30 AM at Copley Square Boston and arrived in P-Town at 6:00PM....I had 3 instances of mechanical failure with my bike and almost froze to death in heavy downpours and hail in the morning hours....but managed to raise, with corporate matching, almost $3,000.00 for this worthy cause....

Thanks for the support.

I saw this post for the first time and want to congratulate you on your achievement. I also want to be the one to make the first pledge for next year, so $2 per mile you ride for 2013. Here it is written in ether. Great job and good luck going faster and stronger next year.
