Orchard Hotel in SF

Howdy,

 

I finally walked past the famous Nob Hill Theater( a Czech porn star's name was on the marquee) & noticed down the street a newish boutique hotel called The Orchard. Anyone checked it out? I stayed away from the boutique hotels this trip because I was afraid I would get trapped in some "rat's nest"(borrowing a phrase from my Mom)lol I may pop in and ask to see a room before I head out on Fri. afternoon for future reference.

Hi John,I have put my Parents up in the Orchard hotel in the past.It is a good place with a very caring staff,The rooms are on the smallish side,and you want to get a room with some light.The rooms facing Sutter are fine if you get a high floor and are not a light sleeper.They throw in morning coffee and rolls,and an evening drinks hour.

They often have specials on the web-upgrade your room.

Right next to the Nob Hill(I do hope you visit-some hot guys perform there-and a very hot arcade in the basement!)is a place called the Cornell French Hotel,very nice,again they throw in some goodies and even have a package which includes dinner at thier very good restaurant.

Now around the corner on Post is the Donatello hotel.Beautiful big rooms with great bathrooms.They run great specials on the weekends-check their website.

This weekend is the Chinese New Years-don't miss the parade!

It's a very nice hotel. Have stayed there a couple of times. The entire hotel is no smoking, so if you smoke, it's a problem. They serve a buffet breakfast included in the rate. Check their website for internet specials, as well as the discount hotel sites. I've stayed in 5 or 6 of the upscale boutique hotels in SF and like this one the best.

Appreciate the input...I'm about to celebrate three weeks on the NicoDerm patch so hopefully I'll never have to be concerned with smoking in a hotel. I just try to remain calm & use my willpower:0)

I want to see Margaret Cho on her "Revolution" tour but I still haven't decided which city yet. I may try to hop up there to see her on March 20th or just catch her in Atlanta. I wont know for a couple of weeks.
