The prime coverage with photos of the "criminals" by the Florida newspaper is deeply concerning. A few years ago a closeted and loved professor at a University here in Arkansas was arrested in such a sweep, and his face and story appeared on the front page of the major state newspaper. He committed suicide a few days later. Thieves and other dangerous criminals are arrested each day with little or no press coverage.

Any where in Cali that you know of to cruise?

I find a lot of outdoor park action under the Hollywood sign in the hills. I stand under the letters "HO" and that seems to attract the crowds. You also can see into Paris Hilton's bedroom from there and that always gives me inspiration to be extra slutty.:p

I agree.

If someone's picture and name is published in order to have someone arrested, then I can understand, but that's not the case here.

It makes me wonder "What's the use of publishing pictures and names of those arrested anyway?".

If the idea is to give a warning to the public and to say "better not do this, otherwise you may end up on television and in the newspapers" then that argument only makes sense after someone actually got convicted. It makes me wonder if journalists and reporters sufficiently realize the difference between "arrested" and "convicted".

If they don't, then we can wait for the moment that a picture and a name of someone innocent will be published. In that case there was no justification for publishing personal details whatsoever and that life will be needlessly devastated. That damage cannot be undone.

Just my two cents.

Anton.

Hi Anton,

It seems to me that Law Enforcement and the Media live to shame people here in the good old USA. When it comes to naughty business, especially if someone is breaking some archaic law, then the more public humiliation the better. There is no regard for anyone, or their privacy, if you are caught being naughty. Here in the US we love to skewer one another, when we get caught...makes those weak minded folks feel better about themselves, and feel more clever because they probably do the same but do not get caught.

Just my 3 cents...

(oh, come out west some time for a visit)

I'm sure there was "Cruiseing" going on outside the Coliseum when Caesar was running the World! It's usually done now adays by those with No Disposable Income or just plain CHEAP Thrill seeking Guys! Get a Room

Actually still to this day, a gentleman can get a delicious italian blow with a majestic view of the Foro Romano. Even under the catholic reign, wise Rome refuses to give up her wanton ways.

I find it terribly sad that the judicial system becomes the enforcer of such Victorian values. Guilt, shame and puritanism in action, squandering valuable resources that could have been used to deal with actual problems in the community.

That said, I don't blame the cops; if I had the choice between spending the night raiding a drug dealer or going to bait guys in the park and look at cock, I would definitely choose cock.

While I think having sex in a public bathroom is not only dumb but invasive of other people's space, I am all for secluded outdoor cruising areas. It has nothing to do with a cheap thrill. Nothing beats making love under the moonlight in the moist, warm summer night!

I also believe this is an expose on what we have come to consider news. Even the weather channel underscores the drama POV into the over kill mode.

I think I saw Nancy Grace in my local park at midnight!

Newspapers don't care about innocence or guilt, just drama and selling advertising. Reporters and their bosses only understand how wrong it is when they themselves are arrested for something, not yet tried and convicted, and learn that even if found innocent they will live with the notoriety forever and for many they will encounter in life think because they were arrested they were guilty. As we know, DSK from France was embarrassed beyond all belief when arrested and paraded in front of cameras, had to spend millions on lawyers and private security only to have charges dropped by a DA who faced NO CONSEQUENCES for his lack of discretion and intelligence

In my area, there is some sort of newsletter-like pulbication ('rag' seems an appropriate term) that is nothing but mugshots & charges of people arrested or charged during the week in local courts. It's sold in convenience stores.

Is delicious Italian blow anything like a stromboli or is it a pasta dish? In any case, it sure makes me hungry.

In the old days, straights had sex in their cars (in parks, at the beach, etc.) all the time. They called it ‘Lover’s Lane’ or 'Paradise Point.' And if a police officer saw anything, he’d tap the window and that would be it. No fines or citations were issued. The couple would usually just drive off. Things were handled with severe repurcussions if two men were caught fucking there. Double standards for sure.

To each his own. I've never seriously even considered having sex in a public space. The risk far outweighs the benefits for me. The possibility of arrest, potential loss of employment, embarrassment to my two teen-age sons, and so on. Hiring a hot man for guaranteed great sex is more of a thrill to me than cruising parks hoping to find a decent-looking man to have a quickie with and possibility get caught. I suppose I'm too safe for my own good sometimes.

No, it's more like Zabaglione: a sweet, creamy and frothy delicious dessert.

Don't blame me for skipping words. Lately I have been under attack for my manic typing, I should be praised for being economic as long as my post still conveys its message in its full moistness. =)
