Cardinals & Yankees

I missed yet another post-season Cardinals comeback victory last night.

The MLB Network is showing Baltimore-New York at 1 PM today (Satur.) Eastern time.

St. Louis-Washington will be on at 3 PM tody.

No' date=' the Yankee/Detroit game is on at 9 Eastern. Baltimore is out[/quote']

Come on, Lucky. The Baltimore-New York and St. Louis-Washington games are rebroadcasts of yesterday's games for those who missed them, which would be especially helpful for those who missed the Cardinals' 9th inning comeback after midnight in the Eastern time zone. Until the late 1950s, the Cardinals were the most southern and western team. So St. Louis still has many fans from the south, including Bill Clinton.

I probably missed what you were saying because I subscribe to MLB and get the replays on demand any time I want. I watched the Baltimore-NY replay last night.

Conf. to RM: I am a Yankee fan despite my Tiger upbringing!

Different cable companies, I guess. I also subscribe to the MLB Network, but do not have games 'on demand.' I am a very strong NL fan; you seem to feel the same way about the AL. I remember watching the 1950 World Series on TV as a young kid, and cheering for the Phillies (long before I moved to Pennsylvania), not the Yankees...not that it did the Phillies any good. I was too young to make a choice based on reason.

The Cardinals have the second most World Series Campionships, but way behind the Yankees.

Tigers: 6

Yankees: 4

OK....the Tigers should have finished off the yanks in 9 innings but it took 12. Derek who? This series will be over in 5-6 games max. Verlander will pitch in game 3 which will be the first game in the Motor City. Go Tigers!!

A couple of hours after a game is over, the replay game is available to MLB subscribers, and you can watch it any time that you want. That's what I mean by "on-demand."

Jeter is out for the rest of the year due to injury. That's too bad for him. I had not realized this had happened to him in last nights game as I was following things live on-line rather than watching on TV. Tough luck for NY. If the Tigers win today (big if), it could be a four game series.

It finally dawned on me where we are apart on this. You may have the MLB channel with your cable package, and they would necessarily only have so many slots to show repeats of games.

I, however, am speaking of mlb.com, to which I subscribe. On mlb.com, I can watch games after they are over by streaming the video to my television.

Given how the Yankees are playing, I myself might not watch the game on Tuesday. (And I will even be able to, since I will be near a television that has TBS.)

It's so maddening that these superstars cannot hit the damn ball.

EZE, Yankee butts are often on my mind too. A-Rod has such a fine one.

Lucky, I totally agree that A-Rod has a great butt. No Tigers butt matches it. Having said that, the year of baseball butt was when MacGwire and Sosa were competing for the home run title. One ebony and one ivory. Stellar asses that have not been surpassed since.

.....and the Yankees are going down. Will It happen tomorrow or Thursday? Who knows? The weather is supposed to be lousy in Detroit tomorrow and there is no roof on the stadium.

Yesterday's game in Detroit was postponed due to rain. The makeup game just started and at the end of the first inning, Tigers lead 1-0. A Tigers win today will secure the Pennant for Detroit and send them to the world series. Game 5 against the Yankees(if required) will also be in Detroit....probably tomorrow which was supposed to be an off day.

.....and Detroit slams New York 8-1 in a decisive victory to take the American League championship! Go Tigers!! Great news for a city that rarely gets good news. On and up to take on whomever wins the National League. Well done Detroit!

I'm officially embarrassed to be a Tigers fan right now. They have lost the first 3 games of the World Series including today's game in Detroit. To be honest, I always felt that the National League would take the title this year. Neither the Tigers nor the Yankees stood a chance of beating the Giants or the Cards. However I could not have imagined the blow-out that is now occurring. None of the Tigers "stars" have done squat in this series. That includes Cabrera, Fielder, and Verlander. The Giants are the better team and deserve to win the championship....and I expect them to do so tomorrow in Detroit.
