I saw the show in Los Angeles, and agree that it is good, but people are talking about how it is a Tony winner and I just don't see that. Time will tell.

Tony Nominated for Best Play...

Before you see "Clybourne Park" know something about it... It's a continuation of "Raisin In the Sun"... The 1st act deals with the white family that has sold it's home in an all white neighborhood to a black family. It addresses racism and the fear of seeing a change for the worse in the neighborhood... The 2nd act takes place 50 years later. You return to the original home which is now in shambles. A white family has purchased it and wants to renovate it. Now, the tables are turned, the neighborhood is mostly black and the racism is directed towards this white family.

It's a very powerful play that addresses not only racism but a family grieving the loss of their son. The very talented cast plays in both acts, however, very different roles.

I enjoyed it and found it very thought provoking.

I saw this a while ago. Agree with Coop on just about everything, only to add that there are some terrifically humorous moments among all the tough issues. So don't be put off by the overall serious themes of the play. There are lots laughs along the way, and the cast is very talented.
