Does anyone have the inside scoop on what happened to Campus Escorts?

Are they no longer around? Their site seems down - and while it's been a while since I hired from them, they were always a favorite when going to NY. Many happy memories from many years there!

http://www.chelseaguys.com is down to a choice of 9 Working their way thru College it looks like. The "Pickings is Lean" when it comes to the remaining Agencies.

To bad the List of "Working Guys" isn't as long as the "Terms & Conditions" List. Well at least they do have a Good Lawyer! ;)

I see that Maximum is down to 13 guys. Looks like hard times for the agencies. :(

I suppose this was bound to happen - like travel agencies these days and other agencies that offer service that now is provided on the internet without paying for the middle man.

I remember Campus a decade ago - great guys, great choices, and great service. Maximum too. Chelsea was always a give and take for me, but in the beginning of my hiring days, I preferred working through an agency than chancing a meet with a guy who had just an ad (and in those days, the ads were at the back of gay magazines).

With all the available sites where one can find a plethora of guys to suit every taste (and a site like here that helps us pick and choose), the agencies seem redundant for the most part; rather than deal with an agent, I can pose a question here and get a half-dozen informed answers and opinions -- for free.

On the other hand - on my last trip to NYC I had real trouble finding guys who would respond or show up. If Maximum hadn't been on hiatus, I would have used them!

The good agencies like Maximum or Man to Man in LA make life easier for those of us who travel They do the leg work and their guys do show up and are dependable. If you are a regular and know what you like, they will be very honest as to an escort's abilities to please as they look at you as a repeat customer to build their business.

With the agencies, no waiting days for an answer or telephone tag.

I think you hit the nail on the head. And not all clients need to abandon agencies to make this happen, just enough to fall below critical mass so that the effort is no longer worth it for the proprietors.
