With the advent of social media and advanced technology, people are now able to avoid face-to-face encounters and carry on their personal feuds via Twitter, or texting...

Back and forth, back and forth without any resolution..... Just Tweet your issues away.

How do you feel about conducting your personal business this way ?

Do you feel a face-to-face encounter nips the issue in the bud quickly, and once and for all ?

Is Tweeting just a silly, childish way of handling yourself, or is it the wave of the future ?

Do you use Tweets in this manner, and if so WHY ?

I think it's silly maybe okay for junior high kids. I think it's okay to make an announcement to a large crowd say if you are an entertainer and you are letting them know where you will be appearing

I tend to agree Jos, and I only started this thread after reading how many celelbrities are engaged in Twitter Wars with each other. In inquiring around, I found that this is a more widespread phenomena, not relegated to just Celebrities.

It's easier to hide behind a Twitter handle and say things that you wouldn't do face to face. I think that's why Twitter wars are so prevalent. On my Facebook account, if I post a political opinion, I will respond good-naturedly and calmly to those of my friends who disagree. I will not argue however. There's no need to make a public spectacle. I think most of the spats on Facebook/Twitter wouldn't actually happen were the two individuals face to face.

It also helps to be able to announce my concerts and other performances on Twitter and Facebook so I'm all for them. :D

it's definitely the wave of the future. Remember that TWITTER is all about marketing you and your product. So celebrities and others will use this as 'free publicity'. Since there is no such thing as bad publicity, feuds can only help a person's reputation. Many people manufacture these feuds just so they can get back into the limelight.

as for me, no..i don't like tweeting that way. most of my tweets are said about things outside of my life..i dont like to tweet about personal details.
