Tonight's local news reports police have two suspects who may have been hired by Laubach from Rentboy.

Once agian, the senseless murder of a well-loved man, who was studying for the episcolan priesthood and had suffered a debilitating stroke several years ago.

Police say they have photos of two suspects using his debit and credit card on the night of the murder.

RIP John

Wow, a Rentboy escort. Some posters on this forum have incredible skills identifying escorts with just the smallest bit of info or parts of a pic. Maybe they can use their skills to solve this murder.

Here's pic of suspect.

Unfortunately this guy looks like a Million other Hoodie wearer's in NYC! But Hopefully whoever will be caught.

I wonder if the POI intended to kill him, or if he died from a heart attack while tied up. Poor guy--from the little info in the articles, he sounded like a man who was trying to do good in the world.

The POI's eyes are pretty distinctive, so I'm guessing someone will know who he is.

Saw this splashed on the local NYC news at 11:00 PM last night. Sad, sad, sad. Another reason I really check a guy out (and his reviews here) before hiring. But then again, one can never tell and you have to always be careful (and this goes for the escorts too when seeing a client for the first time).

We live in a crazy world. Reports say the victim would usually pickup wayward guys whom he felt needed help. Not smart, although honorable, if his intention was soley to help them?. Who knows the motives of any of the parties involved. The only fact is that the outcome is sad.

I bring guys I don't know at all to hotel rooms while on biz trips. They are better hotels which I believe are fitted with security cameras. I have been dillusional perhaps that a hotel with surveillance is a safer environment than perhaps a private home or apartment. However, I suspect one is no safer than the other.

If a person is intent on harming you, they are not thinking about surveillance or the quality of the accommodation, etc.

Actually I agree with you VM...When in Montreal, I started staying in very upscale hotels after a runin with an escort who stole my wallet. Hotel managements attitude was basically, "He was a hustler, what did you expect" After that, on two separate occasions while staying further downtown in a 5 star, I threatened to call hotel security, which promptly ended his threats. Safety sometimes comes with a price.

What are you looking for in escorts that finds so many thieves?

Today's NYPost reports the perps have been caught in FL...

From that story:

Laubach, 57, had known the duo for about a month before his murder, having met them at a sexshop video parlor on Eighth Avenue, according to sources.

OK, so can we stop referring to them as "escorts" found on "rentboy"? These are video shop hustlers. There is a difference. :)

And I'm SURE the victim knew that difference too.? When you let thugs, that you already suspect of robbing you, into your home again, you are inviting trouble. and this time, TROUBLE found him....
