I have a web based data entry application that it would be convenient to use on an iPad. The only problem is that it database that it relates to requires all cap entries. Do any of you iPad mavens know how to set up a cap lock on the iPad keyboard so that I can use it for this application?

Thanks,

do you have an iPhone? I've noticed that if I tap the "shift" key twice, it is the same as a cap lock. Don't know how it will work on an iPad, but give it a whack, and let us know!

Double-tapping the SHIFT key should do it.

Next, fire the people who wrote that application! If a database requires all-caps it's really easy to convert everything coming into it into all-caps. Putting that requirement on the user should be a firing offense.

Tap on the Settings icon

Tap General

Tap Keyboard

Tap Enable Cap Lock

Then double tap the shift button.

(You might have to enable Cap Lock in General Setting->Keyboard->Enable Caps Lock)

Also, you can double-tab the space bar to put a period (.) at the end of a sentence.
