For residents and tourists coming to NYC now is a good time to check out NY's better restaurants at pretty affordable prices. Lunch for $24.07 and dinner for $35.00. Many places to choose from and since this is a pretty quiet time for NY tables are not too hard to come by. Check http://www.nycgo.com for a listing of participating restaurants. If you're dieting you might want to ignore this since the meals are 3 course and include the dreaded dessert. If you order wine watch out! That plus taxes and tip start to add up. NY still has good (free) tap water.

I need to be in NYC. I've heard about this for years but have yet to get there for the event. On the other hand, keeping temptation at a distance might not be so bad. Enjoy!

It's a national event. I had a great pix fixe meal for $30 at a local German restuarant on Wednesday - a house-made teewurst platter, stuffed pork roast (schweinsroulade?), and apple strudel with frozen cranberry yogurt parfait. :)

RW - Only Good Mon-Fri

Restaurant Week Special

That's $24.07 for LUNCH, and $35.00 for DINNER.

Special Menu only available Monday thru Friday.

Reservations a MUST at most participating restaurants.

However, the good news is that the success of Restaurant Week is usually extended, so check online to see if participating restaurants are extending the offer into Feb/Mar.

Ben Benson's Steak House participates in Restaurant Week.

Thanks guys for posting the information on Restaurant Week. There are booklets available that list all the participating restaurants. I picked mine up at the Tourist Information Center across from the TKTS office.

I took advantage of restaurant week and went for dinner at Ben Benson't Steak House on 52ndSt.

I made a reservation as the place fills up fast with the after work business crowd. The waiter handed me 2 menus. One was their regular and the other was special for Restaurant Week.

The restaurant week dinner price was $35. It included a 3 course meal with several choices.

Starting with the Appetizer, I ordered a bowl of their home made Tomato soup. It was very good and went well with their home made breads.

For the Entree: I ordered the sliced Filet Mignon with Portobello Mushrooms and Mashed Potatoes. All done to perfection.

For Dessert: the waiter recommended their Award Winning Bread Pudding with Wild Turkey Sauce. Delicious!

If you go to Ben Benson's website: http://www.benbensons.com, (skip intro) you can see their complete Restaurant Week Menu.

The meal was more than filling and the service was excellent.

I didn't go off the menu and the dinner bill was $35 + tax + tip.

I ate at NYC's famous Palm, Too steakhouse last night. I happy to say that we were immediately seated when we arrived for our 8:30 reservation, but had to ask the waiter for the RW menu. For $35 I had a 3-course meal which included a Calamari Fritti appetizer, 9oz filet minon, and a warm chocolate cake. Delicious! Can't wait for my luncheon at Ai Fiore later this week!
