NAKED MEN IN TAMPA!!

The owner of an Ybor City gay club I frequent is hosting a special event tonight. He has rented a straight all nude club for the night and will have some of his male dancers and some from out of town dancing nude from 7:00 pm to 4 am. He said a couple of porn stars in the area have contacted him about appearing at the event, also. If the event is a success, he might do it monthly. I'll be attending with a friend or two and I'm REALLY looking forward to it. Will be happy to let you know how it turns out, if anyone's interested.

NAKED in GaYBOR????? Yes it’s true. This Sunday will be the Men of Liquid Lounge going Totally Nude at SKIN Tampa. This adult club usually featured totally nude women but this Sunday it’s the men’s turn. Located at 1621 2nd Ave in Ybor City, starting at 7pm. There will be a free shuttle service from Liquid Lounge to SKIN Tampa.

I went... mixed feelings about this. First of all - the place was packed. Completely. It's not a huge venue... it's usually a straight strip club, room for probably 100 or so. So if there are 50 people it seems busy. There were far more than 50. At times it was annoying trying to move about, but it definitely boosted the energy level. Apparently they're going to try doing this once a month.

 

The good...

 

- It's closer than Ft Lauderdale

- Nudity (although honestly it's not that big of a plus for me - I'm weird, I actually am cool with underwear... but I know this would be a big plus to most who read this)

- Great club layout - stage is in the center, great sound system, dancers are truly showcased as opposed to Johnny's style where anyone can just wander on to the stage and dance

- Mix of dancers... various races and body types, someone for everyone

- Dancers were by and large really good looking... a few 8s and 9s, lots of 6s and 7s... I don't think there were any that I would question their career choice like I have in Ft Lauderdale the past few trips

 

 

The bad...

- Way overpriced. $10 cover (although the sign at entry said $20) and as best I could tell $25 for every 3 minutes in the private area... which I don't know how much one could do as they were pushing a $500 Champagne room. A couple times a night they had "specials" (2 dances for $45... I'm pretty sure that doesn't mean 2 songs, it means 2 3 minute sessions)

- Neighborhood is sketchy - it's not in the main part of Ybor it's in a dark area near the highway

- NO ALCOHOL - yeah, seriously

- The club's normal dancers (chicks) were a bit annoying

- Straight dancers did lots of stuff w/ the females and gave little attention to the guys

- Not unique to this place... it's Florida, you'll exit smelling like an ash tray

- Did I mention no alcohol? Was so weird leaving without a hint of a buzz. The $4 Zephyrhills water somehow didn't do the trick.

Anyway .... I pretty much agree with Jake. Noticed a couple of guys from the internet. One guy (can't remember his name), big muscle stud, very good looking. Did work for Falcon. Several really cute guys. One with amazing trimmed body hair. Had a brief $25 lap dance with him. Sexy Man!

 

Will I go back. HELL yeah. Glad Liquid took the lead on putting on this show. Looking forward to seeing their new club next month.

To the guy who did a private dance, was I accurate on the price? Did 3 minutes = a dance? The DJ was vague and the lighted placards that were on the tables made is sound like if I was back there for 10 minutes I'd be charged $100.

 

Plus I didn't know how much fun one could have back there... were they following the straight club's 'no touch' policy or was it the Wild West like Johnny's?

 

I tipped a bunch of guys, but the music was so loud it was hard to converse about private dances... it's a lot easier when you know the story about how things work by reading these boards before you go in.

 

All in all, not a bad way to spend a Sunday night. Next time I'd wanna get a buzz going at home before walking in. I don't drink often or a lot, but the no alcohol thing makes me wonder if I'm an alcholic lol... I seriously don't think I can fully enjoy a strip club w/o an adult bev!

 

The other odd thing last night was the DJ... a bit too mic happy. He used that fake pukey wish-I-was-on-the-radio voice that I've seen in most straight strip clubs... and he wouldn't shut up. A couple points too he screwed the gender up "take one of these gorgeous girls back.. uh I mean..." lol

Are most of these guys last night regulars at Liquid? I've only popped my head in there a couple times and usually make a quick exit - usually only just a few guys roaming around and none have ever really caught my eye - but again I've only been through 2 or 3 times on the way to regular dance clubs. Someone mentioned they do have private dances... curious how they work there as compared to Montreal or Ft. Lauderdale private rooms? Rate? Privacy? etc.

Well, I had a good time at the club last night. Definitely was crowded, but I don’t believe there has ever been anything like this in Tampa, so that’s not a surprise. Also no surprise, the crowd thinned out as the evening went on.

As far as the cover charge & rates for the dances, that’s all set by the club itself (Club Skin is an established straight club with nude female dancers). Liquid Lounge used their facility & got a percentage of the profit, but had to follow the club’s pricing, rules, etc… The actual Liquid Lounge in Ybor has no cover charge and lap dances are $20. (more on that later) The no alcohol rule is how Club Skin can offer totally nude dancers. Someone had mentioned to me shortly before I went that flasks were OK, so I stopped & bought one on the way. No one said anything when my friend I added to our juice /soda.

There were at least 15 dancers last night. 7 of them are regulars at Liquid, a couple from Bradley’s & other clubs. I think there were only 2 that I’ve never seen before. Definitely a variety; some twinks, latinos, a couple big guys, something for most tastes. Most of these guys are used to dancing on top of a bar or a small platform, so it was fun to see them given the opportunity to perform on a stage. A few even used the pole; Lopez, the hot little Cuban was amazing on it!

Lap dances were $20 per song for the dancer & $5 for the “room” which was a small cubby hole with a sheer white curtain. Nude dances were $40 per song & $10 for the room. At the end of the song, the room monitor would come back & let you know, if you weren’t out, but no one looked in during the dance. Later in the evening they ran specials with the nude dance lasting 2 songs for the same price. I took advantage of that twice & had an OK dance and a very hot dance.

For a first time event, I’d say it was a huge success and a welcome addition to the growing club scene in Tampa. It’s supposed to become a monthly event, possibly in the same location. I did hear that another club offered their venue when they found out what Liquid was doing, so we’ll see what happens.

 

Jake asked about lap dances at Liquid Lounge in Ybor, something I’m very familiar with. There is a curtained area at the front of the bar with a small love seat, and it’s private for the most part, although occasionally a dancer will peek in to see if it’s available. A lap dance is $20 and usually lasts for one song. Some dancers pay more attention to that than others. The interaction also varies depending on the dancer and I’ve had everything from “I can’t believe I wasted $20 for that” to “I can’t believe we’re doing this right here!” It’s 1 of only 2 clubs in Tampa that I know of that have a lap dance area, so it helps me pass the time between my trips to Ft. Lauderdale.

 

Note to Poppie: Up until just recently, Derrick Vinyard had an ad on Rentboy. I don’t see it today, but it may show up again.

What's the other bar in Tampa that has a lap dance area and what is that like? Can you do more or less the same stuff as you do at Liquid? Are there muscle guys at both places or does each place kind of have a set retinue of dancers? Thanks for your help with info about Tampa. I had no idea that they even had dancers at bars there! I might have to make a trip :-)

The other bar is 2606. It's a two story bar, the upstairs is a leather bar & very cruisy from what I hear (never been up the stairs). Downstairs is supposed to be a dance bar; got the loud music & dance floor with dance lighting, but everyone I've seen there either sits at the bar or plays pool. On Fri. & Sat. they have 2 male dancers downstairs each night. They have a total of 5 dancers who they schedule through the month & all are muscular & good looking. There is a dark corner of the dance floor with a small couch & dark curtains all around it for lap dances. I've used it with a couple of the dancers, and I know for sure that 2 of the other dancers have been there, too. It's very private (because no one's using the dance floor) and I've had some good times there.

 

Bradley's in Ybor City also has a few muscular dancers on the weekends. It's a popular club with a big dance room, drag shows, pool table. There is a couch in a dark corner of the dance floor there, too, but no curtain. That hasn't stopped me from having some lap dances there, but limited activity because anyone standing or walking by can see what's going on. It's not typically a place to go for lap dances, but I'll get 'em where I can.

Never been to KiKiKi, but everyone who's ever mentioned it to me says it's where street hustlers hang out looking to support their habits.
