I had dinner with a friend of the late Robert Tracy's last night, and, he informed me, that in consideration of his twenty year relationship with Rudolop Nureyev, Tracy had received only $600,000, paid in installments, from Nureyev's estate. Nureyev had made any provision for Tracy, his entire fortune going to a foundation to perpetuate his legend. And, of course, by rumour, Tracy picked up the HIV virus in the course of the relationship, a malady from which he died several years ago. Was that a "fair shake' for Tracy?

In respect of the game of Sex, lies and videotape, there really isnt any guarantee of fairness. If you play the game, there are chances you may pay the price. Tracy was as much responsible for picking up the HIV virus as the donor was, so compensation for that, if that was your implication, in my opinion should NOT be a consideration. Personally I dont enter into relationships for hope of monetary gain.

Ah a lithe agile Nureyev in his prime must have been a incredible sexual experience. HiV was a mystery at the time, so no one was to blame. It wasn't as though Nureyev's sex exploits were a big secret.

Only $600,000 ? All things considered I'm sure Nureyev's other Sexual Encounter's were many over the 20 year period?

It's very sad but whose to say WHO Mr Tracy contracted AIDS from?

Only $600,000 ? In the First Place was it ever established that Mr Tracy Contracted AIDS from Nureyev?

No provsions were made possibly for a very good and personal reason only known to Mr Nureyev and Mr Tracy? Never know will we?

I was given to understand that the $600,000 was paid to Tracy with a "gag clause", and, to insure his compliance, the money was paid to him in installments over a number of years; as he has no health insurance, the sum was expended on health careas his malady worsened. Putting the HIV infection issue aside, Tracy served Nureyev as his "step 'n fetch it" after the passion of their sexual intimacy had passed. Given the size of Nureyev's estate, the sum, apart from neglecting to make any personal provision for the man, seems small in proportion to twenty years of "service'.

Well since I wasn't mentioned in the will, the whole episodic nature of the story holds little interest and concern for me.

Certainly there could have been greater generosity, but I assume Tracy was supported or paid during those 20 years? And many people are 'retired' with far lesser compensation.

According to the article, Tracy was teaching at a university at the time of the interview; I wuuld have thought he would have had health insurance?

While the sum left to Tracy was small relative to Nureyev's entire estate, I am not privy to the details of their relationship. What impressed me, boggled my mind actually, was the size of Nureyev's estate. Are dance superstars really paid that much?! Nureyev lived a jet-set lifestyle yet still left an estate of $33 million back in 1993?? Wow, I'm flabbergasted.

Mrs. Onassis, who was a "fan" of Nureyev, introduced him to the banker who "helped" that lady with her investments; at her behest, he undertook to be of assistance to Nureyev in making his money "grow". Hearsay had it that Nureyev, in turn, was "very nice" to the banker who appreciated beautiful objects of exotic origin.
