I was perusing a book I have (Joel Whitburn's "Top R&B Singles") and ran across a group from the 1970's with which I am not familiar. (Those who know what a big part music plays in my life will understand that this isn't a frequent occurrence. Then again, they never reached the "pop" chart and didn't score higher than 45 on the r&b listings, and they were on a label I've never heard of [Alithia].)

I found the entry amusing so I thought I'd post part of it here:

"Vocal group formed and recorded at Rahway State Prison in New Jersey." Then it lists the individuals' names, none of which are escorts reviewed here, as far as I can tell. }(

When I looked at some of the song titles, I got a further chuckle:

"Look Over Your Shoulder", "I'll Be Sweeter Tomorrow", "All We Need (Is Another Chance)", and "Let's Make Love (At Home Sometime)".

RE: 1970's R and B Group The Escorts

Funny you should post this. Franco, Devon, Derek, Talvin, JeffOH, Matt-Vancouver & I have secretly been in rehearsal for months, preparing for the debut of our new group, "The Hooboys." Derek raps (OK, he grunts & says "fuck" a lot), Franco & his Twinks do back-up, Devon plays acoustic guitar with his nipples, Matt hits the skins with his big drumstick, Jeff is a natural on bass, and Talvin & I sing & drop our pants a lot (a la early Marky Mark). :p

P.S. Now you know you can't use ampersands in subject titles on the new software!
