Recently I had the pleasure and the opportunity to venture to both Buenos Aires and Rio de janeiro for almost three weeks. Aside from enjoying two wonderful apartments, one being a penthouse on the 27th floor in BsAs and a two bedroom in Copacabana which was a mere 1.5 blocks from the beach off Avenida Atlantica in Rio, great restauarants and cafes in both cities, fabulous known as well as lesser known cultural attributes, the men in both places, as usual and the norm, were still phenomenal.

For Buenos Aires I used http://www.soytuyo.com, http://www.ratonesonline.com, http://www.gayromeo.com, http://www.rentboy.com, and http://www.rentmen.com, http://www.leonos.com.ar., and http://www.escupido.com.

From http://www.leonos.com.ar, I sought the services of both Abel and Norbert for a torrid 3Way, and on my first night in this fabulous city of portenos, I'd wanted to see TonyLatino but opted for Grossaman, aka Gaston. Although his pics are better at this site as contrasted with the others--they do not do him justice @ all. The guy is "not gross," he's handsome, hard, hirsute, and hung, and definitely can "fire up one's libido!"

Although I did not see Tony, which was definitely a complete and total error on my part, my good friend saw him in our penthouse and truly, truly, truly enjoyed his time and experience with him. Tony's ad can be seen on http://www.gayromeo.com (Argentina). He and I had corresponded with each other prior to my leaving which was indeed exciting and cordial; when I returned to the States and to California last Monday, the 24th of October, I posted a favorable and accurate message @ his message board @ the aforementioned site where I mentioned that I definitely would like to see him when I am next in Buenos Aires and if he is still escorting. He's handsome and supposedly (via my friend's ecstatic state and continuous afterglow) quite talented and personable; he speaks very clear English: his fee is $100US.

And in terms of fees-- MEN, the guys' fees in Buenos Aires as well as in Rio de janeiro are nothing as compared to what one would dole out in the States as well as in Europe.

For my "sexual curricular" activities in Rio, I used http://www.netgay.com.br as my base source. I hired Beto who's Ricardo @ one of the escort agencies. He can also be located (at times) @ Clube 117. He gave my friend a phenomenal time @ the sauna and me an ok time in our apartment. The guy can fuck and has a superbly beautiful muscular body and an ass to die for--I merely caressed it; he flexed it oh so alluringly sexy! Kisses divinely, too!

...saw another guy Enigma, a hot 29yr old muscular stud with silky skin, 23cm, a hot personality, and expertise in the escort department. He's @ one of the sites; if you can't find him, he occasionally comes to 117 Sauna and parades around in "all of his glory" w/without a towel.

My other adventures took place at The New Meio Mundo, which as a venue was impressive to me in its recent renovations. The guys there are "down-to-earth" and mildly and politely aggressive. I have always liked the ambience and the atmosphere and the guys at Meio Mundo.

Check out specific addresses and directions @www.gaytravelbrazil.com. as well as other salient information.

Guys, I thought I'd post the preceding for the guidance and assistance of others who might desire the "full package" while traveling to either of these my two favorite cities of the international world.

Thanks for the report Axiom. As you know, I am currently in Argentina and having a great time. I saw a male/female strip show last night......only in Latin America!! LOL.

Anyway, I was curious about what you felt the quality of the available guys was like in Brazil. A number of us have felt that during the last 18-24 months or so, the quality of the guys available at the saunas had declined alot. I was in Rio in August 2010 and I felt the sauna boys were just awful at both Point and Clube 117. In fact, during my 4-5 days in Rio, I only hooked up in the sauna one time......and that was with one of the employees at Point!! There were plenty of very average looking guys available but not the stunners one used to see regularly in Brazil. What were your impressions this time compared to prior trips?

Glad you had a good trip. Sounds like you may have to move to South America when you retire!!

I found many of the guys in the two saunas visited to be as desirous as in the past. Perhaps my eye is not as discernible as yours.

A few years back, I had a great desire to move/retire in Rio de janeiro, but after giving it much thought--I'll remain Stateside. Without a support group, friends, a very good command of the language, etc., I thought it best to remain in California, but I do love visiting both places (Buenos Aires and Rio de janeiro; ...am not too sold on Sao Paulo; it is far too damn large for me by its being the third largest city in the world.

Axiom,

So glad you enjoyed your trip to South America. Sounded fantastic! Plus you were able to readjust to the U.S. with the help of a real well-rounded guy. One question though. I am very attracted to guys in my area from the countries you visited, but have been very hesitant of hiring them. The Boston escort sites have a very large number of Latin guys on their sites, but the guys change constantly after short periods of time and the rates are equal to or higher than the seasoned pros.

Any recommendations how one can discern the real working guys from the other group (don't know exactly what that other group is about)

Thanks

Boston Bill

Glad to hear you felt the quality has been kept up at the saunas......and I do not doubt your discerning eye!! I agree that Rio would not be a good place to retire. Kind of like Miami Beach. Fun to visit for a few days but not a place to retire. I actually think places like Porto Alegre or Montevideo would be great retirement options. Slower pace, cheaper, overal smaller cities....meaning more manageable. Yet one can zip to Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, or Rio in two hours or less when bigger fun is required.

Anyway, great to share information with you. I'm at the airport now. Sad to leave.....but I'll be back!

EZE,

I was in both Rio and Porto Alegre this past August and I felt that the quality of guys at the sauna was quite good. I understand that people have different requirements as to what they find to be superb quality, but for what I like (which is extremely varied), I didn't see any drop off from when I first started visiting "Mother Brasil" back in 2008. If there's been a drop-off from before 2008, then I have no point of comparison, but I'd be floored to see what was so amazing from before then. (And when I went in August, it was "low" season, so I assume the guys now must be even more scrumptious as "high" season is starting.)

I agree with you about Porto Alegre. I think it's a better option than Rio for either retirement (which, for me, is too far away) or just to relocate. I would love to move there, if I had the career option or language proficiency, and other issues Axiom mentioned. But that's a whole other issue. If you want to visit Brazil, I'd say go for it. The men there are still among the most beautiful in the world.

I'm retired here now for almost two years in RJ. Not sure of the perceived problems. The metro area has many interesting neighborhoods in which to retire beside the Copa- Ipa axis. Kind of depends where your interests are. I'm sure not many have much knowledge of Itacoatiara, Barrinha or Urca. Or my own neck of the woods on the Ilha Dos Amores - Paqueta. Just ran into an expat retiree on Thursday who swears by Rio Das Ostras. So possibilities exist. The new minimum pension requirement of 6000Reais/month is a whole different matter. Supposedly there is a move by some in government here to get it reduced to a more reasonable level.

Bill, I don't quite understand your question. The Latinos who I have hired in San Francisco have all been stable guys who've lived and worked in "The City by the Bay" for a while. I'm on with one currently in SF; he goes by Mark and has been a fantastic lover. There are a few more in SF as well as in NYC who I'd like to meet.

Are the guys in Boston principally ones who are visitors? If so, I'd take the plunge.

Hi Strafe. Thanks for your comments. Brazil has its ups and downs as far as the "boys" are concerned. I've been going for about 20 years.....including living in Sao Paulo from 2005-2007. The 90's through to maybe 2002 seemed to be the best time for sauna guys. The quality has been in very gradual decline since then. 2010 seemed to be particularly bad for some reason. I agree that it seems to be better this year (well at least in Sao Paulo.....I have not been to Rio this year). Several people have reported that the quality is up again in 2011 so I think your comments are valid.

ihpguy,

HI!! Nice to find another Latinphile in the group. You are right, I am not familiar with the areas you mention. No doubt there are some nice and quieter areas in Rio that one can retire in very happily. I loved my time living in Sao Paulo but I don't think I would want to retire there. Just too big and crowded and too much traffic. Rio has some of the same problems......although if one sticks pretty much to one's neighborhood, it can work perfectly fine.

I remember on work trips to Rio, we often stayed in hotels in Barra but would then have an evening meal or engagement down in Ipanema or Leme or something like that. The traffic between Barra and the rest of the city is notorious......and then there is that tunnel under Rozinha(sp?).

Anyway, RJ clearly works well for you and that is fantastic.

Thanks. Well, the Metro will have a stop adjacent to Rocinha and Sao Conrado. Supposed to be finished only as far as the Jardim Oceanico in Barra da Tijuca in time for the 2016 Olympics. So that will help with the traffic management. Interestingly, no one is promising that all of the intermediate stations will be finished in time for the Games. Depending on finances, two great neighborhoods off the beaten path are the very secure Urca, behind the University and Rio Sul shopping at the base of Pao de Acucar and my own favorite, Barrinha, below Joa and the tunnel the empties into Barra da Tijuca from Sao Conrado. It has a very nice funky feel, less developed, like Redondo Beach/Ocean Park. Located on the canals that connect the Barra lagoons to the ocean. Very neighborhoody place at one end of the Rio de Janeiro version of North Miami Beach.

Although the weather was indeed "funky" during my last stay--I can say that Rio de janeiro was awash in much beauty which again captured my eye near and afar while I rode in the innumerable taxis and on the buses.

Also, to ihpguy, I now know of the area to which I alluded in my private e's to you. The area is where the museum of history is located. It's in Central and is truly, truly fantastic at night in its being bathed in light and seen from a short distance.

Actually, Axiom, the area where the Museum of History is located is called CASTELO, sandwiched between Santos Dumont Airport and Cinelandia, where one can frequently play with the street hustler trade on the Praca Floriano.

Axiom, thanks for the detailed comments about Buenos Aires, as well as the links. Love that city. When you say you "sought the services of both Abel and Norbert for a torrid 3Way", does that mean it happened or you just sought it? If it happened, how did it go? Those two guys sure look hot! Thanks.

U R welcome!

IT HAPPENED, thanks to my friend who contacted Norberto! -:) -:) -:)

They were two "hot" guys in many ways with whom I had almost an hour's worth of delightful fun!

But in looking back, I had a much, much torrid 3WAY with Chorch (...who's still escorting) and his friend and business partner

Esteban Leon in 2007. Read the review in the "inactive" review section @ this site!
