This came up with the discussion of Martha Stewart's broker-friend and I had not thought of it before - the concept of gay eyes. Watching Congressman Ford's press conference today, I immediately thought of those posts here. Doesn't this guy have gay eyes too, or is just that mulatto kind of look?

Look at what I just found:

"On the last night of the convention I went to this party on the Beach in the People's Republic of S' Aunt Monica at the exclusive Jonathan Club. I got to make out with this good looking mulatto representative from Tennessee named Harold or Henry Ford Jr. or something like that. It was fun to really get down and have some brother-to-brother, dinge on dinge love. Honey I was partaking in the ultimate revolution."

Articulate, politically astute, intelligent, and ravishingly handsome: these are the attributes with which I equate with Rep. Harold Ford, Jr.

Last week I attempted to see him (on all tv channels) respond at all of the news events after he'd declared his interest in becoming the leader in the House on the Democratic side. I loved the way in which he conveyed his cogent, relevant, "right on" ideas. I sat and listened and cruised and fantasized. ...even discussed him with my very good gay friend. Both of us had the meeting of the mind. (I did not know that he was single. He is one hot man that I would like to know and encounter. I'd wanted to start another one of those threads about politicans, actors, musicians, sports figures, etc. after listening and looking at this svelte hunk!)

RE: "Work Through Some Issues"?

Harold Ford Jr. named one of 50 most beautiful people

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- U.S. Rep. Harold Ford Jr. has one more item to add to his resume: one of the "50 Most Beautiful People in the World."

Ford made People Magazine's list along with such stars as actor George Clooney, actress Julia Roberts, country singer Faith Hill and Los Angeles Lakers player Kobe Bryant.

The edition featuring Ford is released Friday.

"With a guy like me you just have to look forward to the group photo," quipped Ford, who used makeup to cover his acne when he first ran for Congress at 26.

Under the category of "What Can't be Missed," Ford's former fiancee, Jennifer Baltimore, cites his "piercing, pretty green eyes."

The two were to be married last year, but have decided to wait and "work through some issues," Ford said.

Ford, 30, is the only Washington politician on the list, aside from First Lady Laura Bush.

The magazine said Ford became popular after his keynote speech at last year's Democratic Convention.

He is the son of Harold Ford Sr., the first black congressman from Tennessee. The younger Ford was elected to represent Memphis' 9th district in 1996 when his father decided not to run after representing the district for 22 years.

I remember him from the Clinton hearings - he was a classy guy then and oh-so-cute! :9

RE: "Work Through Some Issues"?

Unfortunately, we will have to watch a wrinkled old prune from San Francisco instead. Nancy Pelosi won the gavel and kicked his ass. Anybody want to kiss it and make it better?

RE: "Work Through Some Issues"?

Not only would I "kiss his ass"-- I'd also like to do other things to it as well. Ohhhhhhh!

Mrs. Pelosi looks very good at her age of 62; other than folks constantly talking about her liberal stance and being from that "great" city by the bay--San Francisco, they need to do their homework to see what she really stands for as well as done.

I wanted Mr. Ford to ascend to that seat, but I was also torn, for I have been a resident of this (once great) state for some 34 years...

Huh? As a constituent, I've met Nancy Pelosi many times, and all I can say is that "ad rian" should pray he looks so good at age 62 and she does. Besides being very attractive and personable, Pelosi is possibly the best-dressed person in Congress. Her clothes are always beautiful (OK, I really wanted to snatch one particularly gorgeous silk scarf she was wearing one of time I met with her!).

As for all the sneering about "San Francisco liberals," it is to laugh. San Francisco certainly has some flaws, but if this were such a terrible place tourists wouldn't descend on it by the millions and make it one of the top destinations for years on end. It also wouldn't have the astronomical real estate prices caused by the fact that so many people want to live here (even in difficult economic times) that they're willing to pay virtually any price for a home here. By contrast, there's no discernible stampede to the earthly paradises represented by Trent Lott, Dennis Hastert or Tom DeLay. :+

San Francisco and the Bay Area indeed are liberal islands of sanity in an increasingly strange America. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if even more people want to escape here once the fascisti now in control of our federal government really go to town making America safe for plutocracy. Not to mention after they've implemented their planned "we know everything there is to know about you" computerized dossier system on every single person in America, all in the sacred cause of "national security." Big Brother is coming, guys, and he's going to be wearing a GOP campaign button. . .

I guess I find that Botox-induced (or surery-induced) smile very annoying, and it even seems to affect her voice too which is fake beyond belief. I admit I don't find Cher or Madonna attractive either. When will people learn to age gracefully. I would prefer to have watched Harold Ford's acne makeup, and listened to his courtly southern charm. Could he possibly be that charming in the bed room? Any bets whether that charm shows him as a top or bottom?

RE: "Work Through Some Issues"?

I don't know if Nancy Pelosi has had any plastic surgery, but I can't imagine when she'd ever have time to have it done. She's always been an extremely busy person!

There's nothing Botox about Pelosi's smile. I've known her for years, long before anyone ever heard about Botox, and she's always had a dazzling smile. She was attractive 15 - 20 years ago, and she's attractive now. She also is extremely charming, and her charm is real. Not like the mechanical, rehearsed-to-every-inflection "charm" of Republican idols like Elizabeth Dole. Of course, it obviously frosts ad rian and his fascisti fellow travelers that the Democrats have found someone as personable, intelligent and attractive as Nancy Pelosi to be their top leader. Next to her, the Republican leaders in Congress come off as the oily undertaker types they really are. Pelosi also makes Bush look even more of a dim-witted country bumpkin than he already does. (Of course, Shrub isn't totally lame. If he weren't his daddy's boy, and just an ordinary guy, on his own merits and talent Dubya might have risen to the mangership of a fast food outlet. Scary, isn't it, that this is all Americans want as a President.)

Oh, how quickly they forget the charms of Hillary....?!

Tri, be careful who you call fascisti. I am the one on this Board that consistently opposes the War and the militaristic theocracy with nuclear, chemical and biological weapons and who sold such WMD to Apartheid South Africa. I only wish Ms. Pelosi was as ardent a supporter of human rights in Israel as she has been in China, but then again I guess the Chinese don't fund her election. She is far too principled for that. Oivey!

A friend of mine tells me that Harlod Ford Jr. may not be well liked among the Congressional Black Caucus. He is not "black enough" and they are not refering to his skin tone. It appears that he takes a more right of center postion on many issues important to the caucus. He needs to "come home" and be more liberal if he expects to become a leader in the House of Representatives. This was also alluded to in the Washington Post just yesterday.

Ford was supposed to get married but cancelled the wedding and no one knows for sure what caused that to happen. He loves basketball and is very articulate and, according to Hill staffers, a nice person. The family owns a chain of black funeral homes in the state.

Like another Tennessee politician, he grew up in Washington, DC and attended St. Alban's Prep Schoool. (He spent very little time in the state just like Al Gore, Jr.) His father was a member of Congress for a long time and was under federal investigation for over 10 years. During the time that Ford the elder was in congress the local black churches in his district would take up a collection for his legal defense. He was strongly urged to "retire" and his son, the one we are all so hot for, took his seat. Ford, Jr. is said to have very decent constituent services, that should keep in office for a while.

Putting aside politics, he is one really hot looking man.:9
