So I'm now in the large midwestern city where I work. My back is feeling incredibly tense, so I started calling around to people on MassageAnywhere to see if someone was willing to give me a massage. (I'm generally picky, but anything would be good right now.)

 

The women didn't answer. One man answered, but referred me to two other guys who were "highly trained in different modalities." One of the guys who was recommended texted back "How can I help you?" When I called him back, he said he is not a massage therapist, and I must have a wrong number (?!). The other guy said he might be able to give me a massage, but he wasn't sure when. It's not a location issue, since I live in a central area and am even willing to travel. I'm guessing that Guy1 only works with men, but the recommending guy should have known that.

 

I found someone for tomorrow night, but I so wanted a massage tonight. I'm so used to NYC, where you can always find a Qi Gong place open until 10.

Ever massage therapist ive ever used has been straight. I normally call the large local gyms and ask if they know of anyone that licensed that they could recommend. over the years ive only seen 3 guys just happen to be straight

I think my post was vague on one point: I'm not looking for a sensual massage. I'm looking for a regular deep tissue massage provided late at night, and preferably at home. In NYC, there are Qi Gong places everywhere that are open till 11 or midnight, and I was looking to find a substitute for that. I did find a skilled masseuse who gave me an excellent massage tonight, but she only works on Monday and is not willing to make home visits.

 

Seeker, I think that'a a factor simply due to the nature of the market. The clients are there are mainly men looking for some form of sex or sexual massage, either from men or from women. Since many MassageAnywhere people list themselves as certified masseurs, I was hoping that maybe some of them would be willing to do that on short notice. I guess I was wrong though.

MassageAnywhere is not a gay website; most of the providers are women. It's not even solely a sex website; there are a number of people on there who say they don't do sensual massage, and post non-flattering pictures that would back that up. I tried two of them who seemed to be legit massage providers, and neither called back.
