OK, after reading and re-reading tons of escort Reviews on Daddys site, I've noticed a common thread....

Alot of the reviewers say "he was much bigger than his pic, he was much handsomer than his pic, he was buffer than his pic, he grew a beard, he was much more mature looking"...

Since you are the commodity and selling yourself, shouldnt the pic reflect who and what you currently are (provided you arent scamming the readers) ? I mean actors and models are constantly asked to update their Head-shots, shouldnt escorts do the same ?

And who knows, updated, modern pics might even garner you MORE business.?... I'm not even talking cock size here, because we all know, more often than not a few inches are Always added to size.

I understand that people may often not be photogenic, and the client might be surprised at how the guy looks in the flesh, but physically being different is a whole other thing.

Am I expecting too much here?.:confused:

Speaking on behalf of one escort I've hired a few times now, Devin Mercer, he stated that throughout the school year his body fluctuates. He prefers to show his least best pics so that clients can be happily surprised when they meet vs. dissapointed that he's not perfectly ripped everytime. In his case, his pictures are of no justice and I was blown away. Even when he said he was out of shape he was still hotter than his pictures. I'm sure other guys have other reasons.

Ah, so they want to give you a pleasant Surprise, huh? What about the cases where the guy showing up is a downgrade ? LOL

That's where you learn the fine art of slamming the door and locking quickly. LOL

That's fucked up. How would a client feel if we did the same to them just because we didn't like their appearance? I mean I know they aren't equal as one is a provider and expected to represent who they are...but some people take it a step further. The fact that a guy may have driven God knows how far, or took God knows how many trains to reach the client should be taken into consideration.

That said, I've never had anything like that happen where a client has turned me away for my pictures. Ironically the ones who have turned me away have generally always been the guys who want to play for free...which is why I never travel to hookup for free. They have to come to me. So if they change their mind, at least it won't be my gas wasted.

FYI, pictures don't always portray the REAL person. I've gotten I looked shorter in my pics. I can't help that. I've seen movie stars and models look taller in their photos but are almost midgets in person. That's just the way photography is. And unless it's a really good photographer it won't always come out the same.

For example, I've seen pictures of mountains all my life but never actually seen one til I moved out west. No matter how big the picture is, you will never have an idea of how tall they really are until you are actually around them LOL.

I've found that most people look different in some way from their pics, even though in my experience the pics I've seen in ads have almost always been genuine. It's just that a real live person, up close and personal, tends to look different from a photograph, which is a two-dimensional representation of a single moment in time. Also, we have to remember that usually some time has gone by since the pic was taken - even if it is reasonably current, say within the past 6 months - and the things people do in the interim can affect their look, like working out more, eating better or worse, getting more or less sleep, etc. It can all affect muscle tone, body shape, and so forth. Height is something I find escorts tends to exaggerate - I've been with too many guys my size or shorter who advertised substantally taller - and cock size, sometimes, but you can't tell that kind of stuff from a photo in most cases.

That's not to take away from the point that an escort who is trying to attract clientele should take some care to get a picture taken that is a fair representation, and to update it from time to time to keep it a fair representation.

The general trend I have observed for the past two years is that most providers I have hired are poor at presenting themselves in their ads, whether it's the pics they post or the description of services they write. I have been repeatedly and pleasantly surprised at the guys I actually met, even though I have scheduled the appointments with minimal expectations. Go figure???

Joey, it was a joke.

Big believer here in CURRENT pic in ads. If you get a great pic we escorts tend to keep it in the ads for a long time but that should not be your ONLY pic. I always include at least two face and body shots that reflect my right-now look. Now, over my career the comment that I have heard a thousand times (and I do not exxagerate at all) is this: , "Wow, your pics don't do you justice. You look far hotter in person." That, as an escort, is how you know you still got it. No matter your age if you are still getting those comment you still have a future in the biz. I would not, personally, ever want to be like some pros who run the same pics for 5 or 10 years then they show up and get asked to leave. That would shatter me. If a client is hiring twink/chicken and beef shows up or AGED BEEF or, even worse, OLD chicken, then to me that is deception. http://www.rentboy.com/mikey9nola1

.

His travel time is part of his business if he does outcalls and agrees to make the trip. His efforts should have absolutely NO bearing on the outcome of the call IF he has indeed misrepresented himself in pics or description. The client is buying what he sees in the pic beforehand and committing to that. If something else shows up, you have NO obligation to purchase it....regardless of how far the scort has traveled.

Since beauty is in the eye of the beholder, in turn, all opinions are subjective. Remember Rashōmon where three people tell different stories about one incident?

It's acting in good faith to compensate the guy for his travel. $20 is not purchasing the product.

Maybe I'm just speaking from my shoes and I can imagine someone showing up not looking like the pics probably isn't a pleasant experience. But I've had situations (it's been years since it's actually happened) where people (again, the ones looking for free stuff which I don't travel to do anymore) have gotten their expectations too high and then I show up and for whatever reason I look like the pics but not as 'good' as the pics.

Now you won't believe this...it's funny because 1 time, I met this guy 3 years ago and we went on a date together. Apparently he was not attracted to me and even told me later on "you didn't look anything like your pics". Now, I don't know if it was the shirt I had on that day or the hat I was wearing or what. Well, a few months later he messaged me online not recognizing I was the same guy. I knew who he was. I went forward with meeting him again, but wearing a different outfit and no hat.

He had no idea I was the same guy from a few months ago...but regardless he was attracted to me enough the 2nd time to take me home with him. What happened after that certainly did not equate to not looking like my photos.

So there can be all sorts of factors involved. Like someone stated, photos are 2 dimensional and does not show the person from all angles at all times. Of course it's important to know how to replicate that 2 dimensional image as much as possible. Or, replicate the 4-D (or however many dimensions real life have) you in the photos.

But Joey--there are guys whose pictures are blatantly false. I'm not talking about guys who use other guy's photos. I'm talking about maybe someone who is using pictures from 5 years ago--has maybe put on 20 pounds--and looks nothing like the pictures online. This has happened to me at least once--possibly more--but one time I definitely remember. An escort who used to advertise in San Antonio and then Dallas. In most cases clients hire on the strength of photos coupled with an ad. If the escort has blatantly misrepresented himself, then he has to accept that there may be consequences like not having the session occur and not being paid for the session.

Rex, that is exactly my point. You hit the nail on the head. My intention was NOT to nit-pick here, and I certainly never intend to Cheat an escort out of their FEE, if they deliver what they claimed and showed. But if you were a bodybuilder and post those pics, but show up and you havent worked out for years, I aint paying. If your pic is of a Hot dark haired guy, but you show up with a bleached blonde do, I aint paying... Its major aberations like that I was speaking of, and sorry if I didnt make that clear. And Really if you advertise a 10" cock, but it turns out to be 7" (on a good day) , sorry, no payday.... ;)
