OK so Federick, is also Fred and Frederick and Yvan....................

All just Apollo 21 advertising on Rentboy.

By changing his name it is harder to track him down.

Yvan is actually a separate blond model. But yes, all the same scam
There is no way to contact him except by emailing through the site. And if he doesn't reply to emails, it's hard to understand how someone can be scammed. Not to mention that whoever is doing this is paying for (multiple) RB ads.

I pursued one of these ads when I first started hiring five or six years ago. The 'escort' (though the email read like an auto-response) asks you to join the site, which requires payment of a fee or perhaps just giving credit card info. Either way, I would go no further.

Others have mentioned in the past that they have received email responses from the ad. I had never tried but in response to your question, I did try. It took 5 days to receive the following response:

contact@apollon21.com

Hey xxxx,

Thanks for checking my Ad on RentBoy.

My pictures and rates are on Apollon21.com

Look forward hearing from you

So yes they do respond and the scam is the initiation fee that make to "schedule" an appointment. The Apollon21 scam has been discussed extensively.

NewAtThis,

the scam consists of asking for a (small) deposit for the session using a credit card.

For example, if you try to book "Adriano", the latest 'recruit' as advertised in the August 2nd newsletter, you'll get the following message:

Thanks *****,

In order to process your reservation of Adriano for 1 hour (250 USD),

we ask you to make a deposit of 75 USD.

The balance of 175 USD will be collected by Adriano at meeting.

Your deposit is refundable until everything is confirmed.

As soon as we receive it, we'll contact Adriano and ask him to call you to setup all the details.

To make the 75 USD deposit with your credit card: Click Here

BUYER BEWARE !

The sad part is that there must be a lot of folks who fall for this scam and are afraid to report it to authorities... hence they keep on and some one is making a lot of money off the community. Thanks for this additional post. Thankfully, I have never been tempted to respond to the pay now, pay more later approach. Thanks Steven for this additional post.
