Gee, the exact reason for my PDA post of a couple of days ago. And from what I saw in the clip, that was the sort of PDA I'm talking about, even a bit more than he and I would do in public. Certainly not the make out type.

But one thought: would it make any difference if the men kissing were older, such as myself and my bf (mid-50's guys).

... I didn't see anything in the video about homosexuality being outlawed.

But a police officer did show up, and it appears to me that he probably would have rousted them if he hadn't gotten the call from his superiors.

It's still a misleading title. Did the cop say, "Y'all can't be gay here?" Also, what about the woman who welcomed them to her city and said she grew up to ignore all of the hateful things her father had taught her?

I agree the thread title is a bit misleading, but it doesn't say 'illegal'.

It still makes no sense. How does one stop "being gay" anywhere anyway?

That sounds like the grammar police, being too literal.

I think most people here would understand it means 'you can't be gay without bad/negative consequences'. I think 'you can't do that' is used fairly often in situations where it's not technically correct and means 'you shouldn't do that'.

So, Marcus Bachmann aside, how does one not be gay in certain places to avoid negative consequences? The thread title assumes that being gay is a choice.

That's being deliberately argumentative Rick and willfully misunderstanding the meaning of the thread.

LOL No, the title of the thread was deliberately sensationalist. It's a video clip from a candid-camera show. It's not a thread listing places where one "can't be gay."

If that's so, my mistake then. Mea Culpa!!

Nope - that's your reading of it. I doubt that anyone really interpreted it that way.

I give up. You're right. There are places where one can't be gay. I see that now. I'm going to go not be gay somewhere now. Bye. :)

You're Correct.

The only real place in the entire universe where anyone might not be able to be gay - is in one's own head. And that's all based upon who and where you are as an individual V. who and where you might be - want to be. Or become.

A very different conversation.

Shouldn't the title of this thread be: "Another episode of What Would You Do?" I didn't see anything in the video about homosexuality being outlawed.

Rick:

Yes, you are correct. You

are always correct.

Rick:

How much would it cost to buy a poetic license from you?

I am open to a significant figure.
