I completely agree. The SW fare from BUR-SFO was at least $400 with an advance purchase. Gate grope is a biggy as far as I am concerned and the other "personal attacks" are not pleasant either. As you say, it depends.

 

Traveling by general aviation could be quicker and depending upon individual calculations, at least in the ball park for cost. As in everything else, your own results may vary.
