I'm looking at working a few days in Toronto this coming August and am wondering where I should stay. I was pleasantly surprised to see that expedia seems to offer some good looking hotels at quite reasonable rates. Proximity to the gay venues and convenience for clients are my main concerns. Thanks.

I am headed to Toronto to see Hugh Jackman in concert in a couple of weeks. Toronto has many nice boutique hotels. I've booked my stay at Le Germain, close to the area I want to be in.

Hotel looked so nice on the website and got such excellent reviews on Trip Advisor, I also booked the Le Germain for my stay in Montreal, too!

Have not been there in five years but I have stayed at the Courtyard which is great but pricey. Not far away are the Days Hotel and Convention Center on College St or the Ramada on Jarvis. They are both near Church Street and Gay Village. Much more reasonable in price.

Cambridge Suites Hotel - Toronto

I stayed here in April - right off of Yonge St by underground mall.

I second this recommendation. Very enjoyable long weekend stay there even though it was bitterly cold but hiring a few hot local escorts made up for that.

Kevin, Toronto is my hometown (although I live in nyc now) but can safely assure you that it has an excellent transit and metro system. Most major hotels you choose downtown near the university should be fine: Hotel Intercontinental, Sheraton, Hyatt, should fill your needs for convenience and discretion along with those of your potential clients. There are also a lot of reasonable tickets on Continental if you want a last minute get away (this weekend, there is a 128$ special!). I've been monitoring it for a while and it seems there is always a deal to Toronto. Ground zero for the gay district is located at the intersections of Church & Wellesley but you will find that most of the hotels downtown are only about 5-10 cab ride away from the "gayborhood". There are plenty of great restaurants and cultural attractions for you to consider. Hope you have fun :)

The best mid-range hotels proximal to the Church/Wellesley Gay Village are: Courtyard Marriott Toronto Downtown, Ramada Plaza Toronto, Sutton Place Hotel, Holiday Inn Toronto Downtown Centre (the former Days Inn on College), The Best Western Primrose Hotel or The Delta Chelsea. Any other advice you need on Toronto, feel fee to ask and it would be a pleasure to have a beer with you while you're here, Kevin.

Thanks everyone for all you help! The trip is booked. I'll be in Toronto from Sunday, August 21, to Wednesday, August 24. I'll post a notice in the escort travels section closer to those dates.

Now I wonder what I do about cell service while there. I've started a new thread on that. Thanks again for your help!

First, check with you wireless provider and see what is available in your plan. I know that Verizon will apply "roaming charges' while you are north of the border unless you have unlimited calling in your plan or a plan that includes service in Canada. You could also check into buying a prepaid phone when you get to Canada and use that.
