No, you dirty man, I'm not talking about the stud with the biggest cock or the guy with the most fuckable ass......I'm talking FOOD.

The 2011 James Beard Foundation Awards were recently announced and for those of you in or soon visiting any of the cities mentioned on the list, get your fork ready.

Specifically, if in NYC, get yourself to ABC Kitchen. Comfort food prepared to put you in a divine frame of mind. As if the interior design of the space wasn't enough to make you cream in your shorts, my God, the food is splendid. And yes, for you dirty guys who need eye candy, there is plenty, both staff and patrons. I've spotted several notable fashion editors sitting off in the corner, madly working away on their iPads. If you can't snag a table, grab a spot at the bar; the service is just as wonderful.

As for minibar in D.C., I haven't been there yet.....HINT HINT!

Happy eating! Good food in the company of a great friend...what could possibly be better in life.....

Once again, my area, the Triangle (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill) is well-represented with a local winning best chef in the Southeast (Anrea Reusing at Lantern) and an 'American Classic' award to Crooks Corner in Chapel Hill (one of my favorite restaurants!). Here's the

on Crook's shown at Lincoln Center and a lin kto a local newspaper oral history.

Thanks again Brandon for presenting an interesting, informative, and light post. In my opinion, your innate ability to show your wide array of interests and the presence to keep the Forum positively focused makes you one of our most interesting posters. CONGATULATIONS!!!

Until Corbin Fisher personally delivers this DISH, soaked in Sauterne, smeared with Fois Gras, and trussed, ready-to-roast, to my table, I'm afraid that I won't believe there is any such a thing as American haute cuisine. Sorry! :(

Thanks Brandon for posting the list of winning cookbooks. I love cooking and entertaining (remember the post we had at the beginning of the year about our favorite menus?) and will be heading out to Barnes and Nobel to check some of these out.
