and he has a hairy chest! I like that in a man...

Remember everybody, Yesterday was the day conquering the "Quad Buster". Today is when the riders need encouragement.

Well David sounded pumped in his text to me last night. I'm trying to text to encourage him. And thanks to SF Westcoaster for going there to support David and all the other riders.

Oh, and Victor -- WOOF!!!!!!!!!!!

Penultimate Day 6 - Paradise Pit

This picture was tweeted a few moments ago.

Paradise Pit in Santa Barbara is my favorite rest stop. We get to savor some succulent Ice Cream generously provided for the occasion by the city of Santa Barbara. Yummy !

But where is the sun ??

It's taking a break.

It hasn't happened much the last two years, but southern California is enjoying (?) a resurgence of the phenomenon known as June Gloom. The good news is that it keeps the temperature on the cool side, which is good for riding. The bad news is that you may only see sunshine for a couple of hours each day, if at all.

Red Dress Day

One can opt for something minimal ...

Thank you so very much

This years ALC ride was one of the harder rides for me. My travel schedule was grueling all year and I did not have time to break in my new bike after my other bike was stolen.

I did the best I could and made it on the road everyday and only missed about 75 miles due to injuries to my knees.

I mounted my Iphone on my bike this year to do video blogs for my facebook page and take pictures along the event route.

I cant tell how nice it was to get text messages from posters and friends encouraging me to keep going.

I was especially thrilled to see that I made my goal of $15,000 dollars while riding into the water stop on day 3, or 4 (cant remember) :p

I see now why I made the goal. You guys are great and you know who you are.

I also want so say thank you for stepping up and helping others that may not have been able to ride this year Daddys community pulled thru when it mattered the most and for me that is what makes this place so very special.

Aidslifecycle is not just about raising money its also about raising awareness.

I want to send a very warm Thank you to DADDY for helping keep the ride on the news everyday along the route and bringing us together for this event.

Next year I will proudly wear my custom made Daddys patch he sent to all us riders on the ride I promise.

Finally of course, if your so inclined to sit through 10 mins of a way too long video I made of my experience on the ride. I am going back to bed with the ice pack :o

Just know I will be forever grateful for this place and all of you.

Thanks again & again

xo David

Although I missed you at your lunch stop on your second day--I appreciated reading and viewing and responding to your updates on FACEBOOK! DAVID, as I'd said before, you are a "true gem!" Sorry about your swollen knees, but "you did your BEST under the circumstances!"

CONGRATS to you and the other riders and roadies and assistants who participated in AIDS LIFE CYCLE Ride 10!

If things go right for me, I might decide to join in ALC Ride 11 in 2012!

T H A N K Y O U, man!!!!!! Ax- -:) -:) -:)
