Okay...I totally ripped this off verbatim from another website BUT when I saw it, I laughed so hard because when I was reading it, I was thinking "HEY...you're supposed to follow these guidelines before doing.....um... THAT?!?!" See if you know what I mean.

 

1. always warm up to prepare your body and increase flexibility and then cool down afterward.

2. stretch after exercise to help prevent muscle strains, sprains and tendinitis.

3. keep your muscles strong and balanced to stabilize your joints.

4. use good form and improve your technique.

5. wear good, well fitting shoes that provide support and absorb shock

 

I'm not sure shoes are a must though..maybe...who knows?
