I actually can't stand country music but I think Scotty is one helluva singer. I don't get Casey and Paul at all. Their appeal is lost on me. Stefano I would like to take to my bed and cuddle (among other things) him all night long.

Karen's out

Seems like the voters almost always get it right--it was definitely Karen's week to exit the show. Haley is probably next out unless another contestant has an unexpected meltdown.

It seems like it's a boy's year. There are better boys than there are girls. I agree, unless Haley does something amazing...she's gone. Paul is odd and seems to be a one-trick pony. He is interesting to watch as well as Casey is. My favorites are James, Pia, Scotty, and Stefano. Jacob is good too. Damn!!! Stefano is soooooooo cute. Scotty will get a country contract no matter what.

Who Will NOT Make the TOP 10?

I honestly thought all 11 contestants were very good last night. So, who should get the boot and exit tonight? My best guess is that Haley Reinhart will be eliminated. She's been in the bottom three both weeks so far and she doesn't seem to have clicked with judges or the audience as much as all others. But I'm a little worried for sexy Stefano too.

Anyone else have a prediction?

Naima is the most entertaining of all the girls—including the pitch-perfect Pia Toscano—so I hope she's safe for a few more shows at least. But her addition of eclectic African dancing to her performance may have been a bit over-the-top for some viewers and so I fear her ride may be over.

Quite an unexpected turn in the voting last night. Casey was quite emotional in his non-elimination. I was glad the judges chose to save him though he seemed convinced they would not. As for the overall competition. There are three contestants with great voices but little stage presence, Thia, Pia and Stefano. Three entertainers with not so great voices Naima, Casey and Paul.

Three that have a niche type talent Jason, Scotty and Haily. Of the other two, one Hailey should probably be leaving soon and James will probably win it all if he gets by country week.

Last night's results show was one of the wildest I can recall in Idol history--complete with surprise visits from Stevie Wonder and Hulk Hogan. And, I thought Casey Abrams was going to vomit. It was most surprising that Haley escaped the "Bottom Three," imho.

Like Paul, Casey is most at home behind an instrument. He is a very gifted musician and should use all his gifts when performing. I think we will see far less growl from the man here on in and most instruments. Most of the contestants do seem to be listening to the judges' critiques, although of all the contestants, Stefano and Thia did the least amount of improvement and headed down for it. I think those two are the most vunerable. This was a reminder to all contestants that you do have to give it everything you have every week. This is by far the earliest it has been used, Big Mike top 6 last season and Matt Giraud at top 7. In both cases they survived the following week whe two left the show, but then were gone. Casey's is the longest road to go. But maybe an early set back like this will work as the wake-up. Stefano was definitely emotional upon making the tour, I dont think he or Thia would have received the save. All of the contestants have stated they have watched the show since the beginning, except maybe Thia, but enough of them to know which songs work and which haven't. Also which former contestants took a song and blew out of the park, like David Cook Hello. Hopefully, no one ever tries Lennon's Imagination, Archie owns that one.

So next week could be one of the best weeks, if the contestants can do their homework. But these trends to last a week two at the most. Therefore, I feel Casy will make it through next week. It is the week following to watch. Two next week, I think we have a return to a ladies dominated bottom 3, I dont know the theme which can be important. If Scotty did not make bottom 3 with that retched performance last week, he is teflon man and almost a shoe in now for top 4. So for now I will go back to last weeks bottom 2 survivors, Haley, Naima, and I will go boring Thia. Too bad she really does have an impecable voice. Actually Stefano's voice is very good too. Hello was the wrong choice. Stefano does not have the skill in arrangement to make things interesting like David Cook, who was brilliant. Heat Wave was the song that got Lil' Round Booted. Thia needs to either be a teenager and pep it up or nail a ballad better than Pia or go sultry, ugh none of them work so

good bye boring Thia and I'll go Haley, she aint winning but got the tour so good-bye! I do think Stefano and Casey are still on very short leashes.

To be honest lets go double elimination the next two weeks. At least a double elimination should make next Thursday's elimination show interesting. With no save, it will just be exit time and less air time for Steven Tyler and the judges, in fact lets give the judges next Thursday off and just have card board cut outs in their place or maybe a J Lo performance oh let's not.

By the way love the dress up by the contestants. The ladies looked great in the white and love the black dinner jackets by the men. I wish they would do that more, I would much rather see a little more class for the Thursday show, even sometimes what they wear for the performances is a bit grundgy for me.

So much to pick at me about - What do you say about double eliminations more than once? A few more dress up Thursdays? Why dont we add judge elimination night along with the save?

Cash you are being a bit of a party poop, I know business is business, I have had enough working gentlemen tell me that. I was just supposing. The mass elimination the first night was excellent with the sing for your life. You should be very pleased Scotty made it though probably his toughest night, as long as they dont have a

Broadway night, although he may have some issues with rock night and duets, he is probably along with James the most solo-like singers they may have ever had. While the other top contenders other than Lauren still have to make it through a country night. Which leads me to the question, why on earth would you have Sugarland Express singing during Motown week.

I only mention it because people I talk to dont like to start watching until only real contenders are left like the top 8. You are right Cash money rules as it probably should. I just dont know why they dont up the top prize a bit, but I do realize the tour does mean bucks for the top 10 ooooops, top 11,

My two teen-age sons and I watched last night's show together and ALL agreed that Thia and Naima delivered the weakest performances and are in danger of going home tonight. We could very well be wrong but, hell, I was just happy that the three of us finally found something we could agree on (a rare occurrence indeed)!

I haven't watched it this week yet...but was blown away my last week's show when Randy stopped Casey from singing and just told him that he deserves to be on the show and the safe card was used.. I like him, but he isn't my favorite. However, I think there are a few girls there that need to go before he does. Haily and Thea for sure

Let's Here It for the Boys!

Two More ladies exited Idol tonight. Thia Megea and Naima Adedapo found themselves in the bottom three--along with Paul--but couldn't manage to secure enough votes to stay in the Idol competition. With only three women remaining in the "Top 9," it's quickly turning into a testosterone-laden Idol...and I'm not complaining one bit! :)

I liked Naomia. Don't get the Paul guy (BORING) or Casey (BORING).

I'm with Operalover... Paul and Casey are my least favorite of the male contestants. I wouldn't miss either one.

Ahhhh, as had been mentioned earlier, the girls just dont have it. I was hoping Naima might hang in there because at least she was trying to be different but too much. She is a performer, Thia they should have told her back in top 24 not this, not because you dont have the talent but you need to expand your performing skills before coming here. She has a beautiful voice.

To the rest I sort-of-like Paul, but he is on the count down list. I would love to Casey with an instrument, I was bored with his performance. Haley ugh, reminds me of Haley a couple of seasons ago who goes with the sex appeal rather than singing. She is okay, but I hate the growl. I cant stand Lauren and I loved Pia early on but the boring is beginning to come to mind when she sings. But I love her voice, easily the most professional singer in a couple of seasons.

Even Carrie Underwood. Kelly Pickler that 1/2 of a country twin freak sang non-country or at least tried. To countri-fy an Elton John song, really, ugh I know Cash will make a mockery of me but sorry I cant believe he wont even try to do it. Naima gets crushed for doing it her way but Scotty, just because he can sing that low note doesn't differenent standards. Great voice but he does not have the national appeal as Carrie did or the personality of Kelly, to move country main stream, He will be on that channel at the end of my dial on the radio that I will never tune in.

Lets hope for better things to come, like Haley going home.

I agree Bart. Thia could possibly have won the entire competition if only she had waited a 5 more years and further developed her personality, performing skills and vocals. She just hasn't completely blossomed as an artist yet. Too bad.

Shockingly Pia went home today. She had an unbelievable voice and an incredible body. Beautiful young woman whose elimination left the judges stunned. Me too. She was one of the ones I thought could win it all. Her elimination will stand next to the elimination of Jennifer Hudson as one of the more shocking turns of event on this show.

American taste. Shit anyone?

The idea to let "America" pick the best singer in a singing contest has always been ludicrous. America is tone-deaf, as evidenced by the vast majority of people who audition for American Idol, truly believing they can sing, and end up sounding like nails scratching a chalkboard.

American Idol is nothing more than a pop-styling popularity contest, which explains why certain ethnic singers, no matter how talented, find it impossible to stay in the game.

If Pia's recording contract isn't already signed, I'm confident it will be signed soon. The sooner AI gets her album out, the better for everyone, financially.

If the show is rigged, which many believe it is, one has to question the benefit of letting Pia go so early. The rig believers claim the high drama of her exit provides the following day water-cooler sensation that few TV shows deliver these days. Some insist high drama = ratings. (ie: Joan Rivers on Celebrity Apprentice)

I say, if the show is rigged, letting Pia go so early will piss a lot of people off and potentially turn them off from watching further. I know very few executives in television who would dare to take such risk.

On the other hand, if America's vote is honest, then one really has to scratch his head and wonder what happened. Pia delivered her first up-tempo song without a glitch. OK, so she needs to work with a movement choreographer, or RuPaul, but her lack of stage pizazz did not detract from her outstanding vocal performance. The idea that America would prefer to listen to Haley Reinhart and Lauren Alaina, two girls with very slim chances of a successful recording career, over Pia Toscano, shows me that American voters suck. I still can't believe that Paul McDonald made the top 12. When I hear and watch him sing, I want to run to my kitchen knife drawer, grab the 10-inch chef's knife and stab my eyes and ears repeatedly until there's no chance I can see or hear again. Can I get an amen?

This will probably piss off a lot of people, but, I just watched Glee where Mountain High Valley Low (I think that's the title) was PERFORMED - yes with capitol letters! It made Pia's performance look like an amatueur attempt. Maybe she should have been voted off. It only showed how poor her version was in comparison. The glee version had me jumping in my seat.

It's "AI" night. I will vote again. ...didn't vote last week or see the show and was indeed super "pissed" when Pia was voted off. I was stunned, stunned, stunned; in looking back I even think I shed a tear or two for Pia. Two days ago (4.11.11) I read on the net that she's signed a record contract and as has a new beau. The latter doesn't interest me.

And Purple... you're quite "spot on" in your assessment of her being booted off is similar to JH's. I truly hope that Pia goes far. As far as Ms Hudson goes, I have both of her cds and just finished listening to her most recent one about an hour ago while I was driving! -:)
