Well--his pictures are great. He's currently in Bangkok which is a little far for me to travel. One thing that worries me is that he copied a large portion of the copy in his ad from a long time escort who used to advertise in NYC--not sure if he still does as I haven't looked at the NYC ads lately.

That in and of itself might not be a problem. People do copy off each other, ask any college kid with an overdue term paper.

My own limited (very limied) experience with ads in Rentboy and other places is that there seems to be a "form" all ready and especially guys who do not have English as a first language, often resort to it -- just to get the ad up and running. I once was with 2 guys from Budapest, and saw the ads they hastily posted on Rentboy thathad them both doing BB - which they di NOT do -- and it took a few minutes to skimply "correct" that one, and also correct some other errors (on their height, weight, interests). I am not so concerned with the copy as much as the truth of the photos, and most especially comments of cllients.

I once visited the RentBoy offices on 14th Street on behalf of an escort friend of mine who had his ID stolen and had problems clearing a modest credit card payment to them. RentBoy has a staff of guys answering the phone there some of whom sounded like they were helping escorts with limited English draft their profiles. They seemed helpful but not exactly F. Scott FitzGeralds or J.D. Salinger's. (Kept wondering what famous ass might have occupied the deskside seat my ass was filling.)

I can't speak to whether he copied alot of his ad or not, but I can assure his English is just fine as he is not from abroad. He lives in NYC although he appears to be traveling at the moment. Anyway what you see is pretty much what you get. He was very interactive with me so I was happy.

If the escort is being honest in what he will or will do, and he sees where someone with like do's and dont's has said the same thing better, why not. Sure it's intellectually wrong to do this, and I would wish he wouldn't, if the text is honest, I'm o.k. with it.

The problem was it was fairly distinctive copy-- not just a generic description-- " blank blank top or a submissive bottom to take whatever you give''. I saw the escort's ad who originally used this phrasing for years. It's Gino of NYC/NJ. He used that ad for years. Then a year or so ago several escorts plagiarized him, and he changed his ad.
