I saw the show on Broadway two weeks before it closed and I loved it. I saw Debra Cox as Aida. The show had solid surprising staging, memorable music and powerful performances. Not sure why someone wouldn't like the show unless they saw a high school production or something.

Oh well, I liked Xanadu too and people hated that show.

I'll agree with Greatness and Jackhammer ... I enjoyed Aida very much. It's one of my top 10 shows that I've seen on Broadway.
