I use this Gayromeo when in Europe as they have the widest selection. However, the number of advertising escorts for the US is quite limited so I generally don't refer to it for domestic travel.

So...... it's Catch 22: escorts don't sign up for a free escort site, so clients don't look for them? And yet, there was a recent escort thread complaining about advertising costs on other sites??? To all the US escorts: sign up and save$$$ You have nothing but a few minutes to lose.

I just went through the somewhat cumbersome process of creating an account. It took a day to be approved, but then only as the pretty limited basic account. (The email you posted said all new accounts would automatically be upgraded for a trial period.) I emailed their support and the auto-reply said it would take them up to three days to respond (!). We'll see what happens.

 

I'd be interested if the site generates any leads, but at this rate I'm not expecting much. The site appears to charge to see the escorts' x-rated pics (or there was some verbiage around a convoluted member authentication program that may allow one to see useful pics if he has friends vouch for him). I'm not sure why any prospective client would go through this hassle when there are plenty of sites that present all the data simply and for free. Maybe that answers your question of why more guys don't advertise there.

 

I'd be delighted if my initial take is wrong and the site works out wonderfully. I'll keep you updated.

I think that you're confusing a "USER" profile with an "ESCORT" profile which are two separate things. The OP was referring to a 'user' profile (not in the commercial section) being automatically upgraded. If you would like to upgrade to a STAR ESCORT account that will cost you about 69 Euros for 3 months and you'll have full and unlimited use of all functions. As I mentioned in another thread GayRomeo is not that popular in the US and the investment for a STAR account wouldn't justify the very few and slim requests you'll get occasionally thru that site. We can all dream and hope that one day GayRomeo will become popular in the States and ManHunt will do the same in Europe. It's all about marketing. As they say "Hope never dies".

I tried the free escort ad and so far it has only brought in some spam and one email from a drunk Swede in Ohio.
