stumbled upon this recently...pretty insightful comments from an occasional nyc rentboy. He seems like he's not really enjoying it but is doing it to make ends meet. Somewhat brutally honest about his clients and how easy it is for him....good thing he's an unknown because if clients knew how he felt they may feel otherwise in hiring him. Anyhow, just wanted to share with everyone.

 

Wish there were more blogs like this. Maybe it would be interesting to read a blog from a hobbyists' perspective....actually, i keep a little diary with a rating scale of the guys i see (commercial and noncomercial)...does anyone else do that??

A very interesting read, thanks! I'd also love to see a blog written by "hobbyists", I think the perspective would be quite different.

 

I really try to avoid guys like this who're escorting just to pay the bills, but seem to hate it. I seem to run into this mindset more with the higher priced guys (maybe priced to get over their squeamishness), so I have yet another reason to avoid them. A few insightful questions and a keen intuition work wonders to filter this type out.

 

My favorite type of "hobbyist" is a guy who's just a naturally gifted "people pleaser" who's great with the banter, genuinely loves interacting and getting to know strangers and has an "everybody deserves some affection" frame of mind.

 

Isn't a "rating scale" a little one-dimensional? I can't fathom how you can rate the variety of men out there on a 1-10 scale (except maybe "never again"<-->"want to marry him"), I write a journal entry (sometimes several pages) on each guy I see, but no numbers, now if I would just distill these down and submit them as reviews.:o
