Purple peppers?

Same to you Oliver, and all those on the Forum....

But didn't the purple peppers distract you even at the least?

move over Martha..

Why so early? Have you already started on the turkey?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Charlie,

If you were familiar with Oliver's cooking skills, you would realize that even a week early wouldn't be enough time.

One of the many things I have to be thankful for this year is Oliver's friendship. I can always get cooking from somewhere else.

I love Thanksgiving and want to wish everyone on the Forum a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING. I am already tired of seeing the Christmas Decorations and the emphasis on "Black Friday" shopping mania. We have many reasons to be thankful, not the least is the very positive support exemplified in most of the postings on this Forum. Even when some of the comments seem out of hand and hateful, I step back and think what a wonderful place we are in where everyone can express what ever is on their mind. I am especially thankful for the very positive support given by so many here and also the private messages I have received over the past several months.

So, guys, please enjoy your Thanksgiving... whether with family and friends, or even if it is by yourself. You are not alone since you have friends here.

I'm more familiar with Oliver's fantastic skill at picking up the check when we go to a restaurant.

Amen to that!

Doesn't he have the longest arms you have ever seen when the check comes?

He has always said that is his style of cooking.

Just don't let him near the boiling water unless you need it burned.....

I'm looking forward to his next pass through Atlanta. He mentioned something about dinner. I'll see if he is staying inshape and still exercising those long arms. :)

Just kidding Oliver! I will enjoy dining with you as promised, and we'll race to grab the check, my friend!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends in Hooville!

I like Diverdan and many others on this site absolutely LOVE this time of year. I start decorating my house for Christmas the middle of “OCTOBER”. It actually takes me three weeks to get everything exactly the way I want it. I then go off to Puerto Vallarta for the first week of November to relax and get ready for what comes next. Upon my return from PV I begin planning my many holiday parties. I love making up the guest lists, printing out the invitations, and preparing the menus. I have now just begun to cook. I am preparing a twenty-two pound turkey dinner with all the trimming for friends on Thursday. I will have a Christmas brunch (Italian frittata etc.) for my family on December 12, a large dinner party (Italian), for about thirty friends, on December 17, an open house (cookies and spiced cider) for neighbors on December 19, a small dinner party (Mexican) on Christmas Eve and finally ten very special friends for a Prime Rib dinner on Christmas Day. I will be in my kitchen several hours every day from now through December 25th – that is most definitely NOT a complaint because I LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT.

To all of you have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving and a fantastic HOLIDAY SEASON.

Love to all. Epigonos

I see that I come to SoCal at the wrong time of year!:D This non-cook could feast all through November and December, without lifting a finger.:p

Eating Crow....

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Eat well.

I am a big boy and I'll admit when I am wrong. I have seen evidence that Oliver can cook. I have not tasted the evidence, I have only seen pictures. And I am assuming that the food pictured in the evidence was prepared by my good friend. The proof they say is in the pudding and I will report as soon as I have a chance to "spoon in" to the "pudding". In the meantime, it does appear that my buddy can do more than burn water.......

Happy Thanksgiving!

I loved your post here, Epigonos, and am very certain that your friends and family enjoy your cooking, decorations and the love with which you do all of these things for them. I used to do a lot of cooking too, but have cut way back in recent years. I decorate for Thanksgiving, and then do the Christmas decorations beginning with the first Sunday in Advent... but everything stays up until after Epiphany ! I need to look you up when I get to LA one of these days and we can compare notes ! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas, which I know you will from what you have said. Thanks for sharing.
