Would McDonald's Run an Ad Like this in the US?

Maybe they have done ads like this but I don't recall seeing any. What do you think the reaction would be if they were to do something like this here in the US?

It's only a commercial, however, not sure I really like the message the commercial is sending... The father and son seem close. Too bad the son wasn't portrayed as being open with his dad and the dad accepting him for who he is. Might make for a better conversation over their happy meal..... just sayin'

I had the same initial reaction as well...a missed opportunity perhaps to address acceptance. Perhaps too much to ask from a commercial. It does, however, probably reflect a lot, maybe most, relationships of a closeted gay son of that age and a father. Actually kind of powerful and I gotta give McDonald's in France credit for doing that commercial. Unfortunately I don't think it would be well accepted in the US...at least not yet but hopefully one day not too far in the future.

It would most probably hurt their profits and/or a church organization boycott them. It's all about the money.
